Is it just me, or is today's society being over-run by crappy music? I mean, every time I turn on the MTV, it's always some stupid new fashioned R&B song from some jackass named Eamon. Attention Eamon: You suck. It's no wonder your girlfriend left you. Or, it's punk rock from the bands: Busted(sucks), McFly(sucks), and some other band that sucks(they suck, too). "My girl left me because I'm annoying as all hell and I can't play my instrument to save my life boo hoo hoo...." Attention Punk rockers: Get off the stage; you suck, too. And hop hop, well, let's just say, sucks more than a hooker in L.A. on a Saturday night. Classic rock, it's old and done. Half of those guys are dead, anyways. The only good music I've some across is the old R&B. Barry White, and Marvin -blam!-e! And rock from about '90 to '01. This includes, Rage Against the Machine, Jane's Addiction, Pearl Jam, Pantera, Primus(pre pork soda Primus, before they sold out and went punk), pre Ride the Lightning Metallica, Alice in Chains, and the Cure. I've had enough of this new crap. The best music is forgotten, never to be remembered. 'Tis a sad world we live in now where the majority of kids haven't heard of Rage Against the Machine. Too bad.

Finally, there's a non-old guy who agrees with me that rap is crap. It makes no sense. It always has an annoying repetitive beat. The words are uncomprehensible, and when you do understand them it's pointless obscene ****.

Thank God for artists like Marty O' Donnel, who make REAL music.

ME TOO!! but back to the topic at hand...i hate most of todays "pop" music. that includes rap, hip hop, "alternative" (ie evanesance), and most electronica/techno (sure, some of its cool, but most of it sounds the same). o, and the literal "pop" genre...ie justin t. granted there are exceptions in each genre that i like.

What classification does the Halo music fall in? It sorta sounds like a mix of everything.

I'm glad to see that people agree. Every other time I bring up this topic, I get bitc**d at by wannabe 'gangstas', and punks. Too bad they suck so much.

Back on topic, I loathe punk (with few exceptions). It is mostly just whining and -blam!-ing about how much life sucks or how pathetic they are. That said, Im not partial to any perticular genre, I like anything as long as its well made.

Oh yeah, pardon the lack of proper punctuation. My keyboard is -blam!- up right now.

Marty O'Donnell has his own column. I've never heard any of his music that I didn't like. It was a given.

News Flash: On my quest to find decent music in our decent music deprived world, I have found another band of quality. They're called Modest Mouse. It isn't the best music, but it's pretty good. I like it. You might, too. There's a song called, "Float On", downlaod it, listen, tell me what you think.

First of all, Halo music is on the awesome list. definitely. what ever happened to rap that was all about throwing your arms up like you just don't care, not all this crap about sex and drugs. There are still some good bands out there. Want something different? Try out Dream Theater for size. Most of you have probably never heard of them, but the are probably one of the best bands out there. Tool is good. 311 is good. Classical music is kick ass, so is HAlo music. So is the Halo 2 trailer music... droooool. There is plenty of good music, yuou just have to look past and through all the piles of mainstream crap. heh.

Best drummer, guitar player, keyboardist i have ever heard. And im big into music, and am a drummer myself. Pretty technical entertaining progressive like rock. Hard to fit a genre. Good songs include Blind Faith, Stream of Conscience (instrumental), and Honor Thy Father and countless others. Home is also a good one.
