The one thing people forget when they say that Halo 1 on Xbox Live would be the best game ever, and that Halo 2 would suffer from it, is that what made Halo 1 so great for alot of people is because they could only play with their friends. They'd get a party going, and link up on Halo 1 because it was all they could do. With Halo 2 on Xbox Live, you could now play by yourself with anyone in the world.

What would make Halo 1 any different from Halo 2. Now you'd be playing with random people from around the world and without a proper ranking structure games would be full of pros and new players. There would be cheaters, just like in Halo 2, and most importantly, the thing that makes everyone feel that Halo 1 is so great - the social aspect would be gone. Unless people frequently lan Halo 2 as well to compare to atmosphere, I feel that's the one thing people tend to forget to include when they go off about how much better Halo 1 would be on Xbox Live than Halo 2.

It'd be similar to the way Halo PC works. I still find Halo PC fun, but the social aspect of it is practically nonexistant.

first of all, i dont think wut u said about the "social aspect" of the game is true, because ppl still play halo 1 xbc, including me, and that's even less social than halo pc. but, if u actually wanted a more "social game", all bungie would have to do to add the "social aspect" of the game to halo 1 xbl would be add a mic addition, party system, and ranks, and walla u got urself the perfect xbox live game!

You're missing the point. I mean the lan parties people have. I'm not talking about how many people play, or how they play. What I mean is the enjoyment of getting together with your buddies, and fragging it out. It's like you read bits and pieces of what I say and interpret them into something else.

Of course Bungie would have to add all that stuff to Halo 1 in order to mantain the aspect - otherwise what's the point =P

god

My position is not against halo 2, or 3. Both are great games (well h3 beta was great) all I am saying is that a release on arcade for halo 1 multiplayer with matchmaking, and voice would be a winner. Everyone saying this game isn't old enough must not be able to add, or subtract because it has been almost 7 years. Considering even if they decided to do it we wouldn't see anything till sometime in 08 we would be talking 8 years.

Considering this game was what gave xbox life, and halo 2 kept it alive I can't see how we can deny the leverage it would bring. I am not a game maker, but if you can release final fantasy over, and over along with endless other games i find it hard to believe that the most powerful company in the world (M.S.) couldn't make this possible.

Again if they don't want to we can't make them, but B.S. excuses are just that B.S. Halo made xbox, and halo is by far the best console fps.
