Subject: Can the condition of the disc affect gameplay online?

Im asking this question to anyone who knows. I have been having a lot of issues with my internet connect when playing across Xbox Live. I've contacted my ISP, my router's manufacturer, and Xbox Customer Support, and none of them seem to have an answer as to why I keep getting lag when I play in Matchmaking. My connection keeps bouncing from Red to Green. So, I was wondering, could it be my disc. I've had the same disc since the game came out and it has some wear on it, but can scratches cause lag?

Don't send me group invites.

I'm not 100% sure, but I remember I used to have a really scratched disk, and it would lag on some of the maps and wouldn't even load some (like Coagulation). I borrowed my cousin's (and never gave it back heh) and I haven't had problems since.

The disk condition has nothing to do with your internet connection. The disk condition just has an effect on the loading of the maps/levels.

You think it got what it takes to be..?.

God forbid you send me one of those I was checking for cool gamers and saw you messages too, I will scream to the top of my lungs and smash this damn screen/BlackBerry to pieces! You've been warned -_-

Yes and no.

Yes because a mucked up disk can cause you to fail to load something.

No it doesn't cause lag.

Depending on how you are connected, you might want to look into replacing it. If you use a cable modem directly to your box you might want to try to replace that modem. If you use a cable modem to a router you might want to look at replacing that.

I work for the Network Administrator of Colorado State University and know that a router that has had its fair share of usage can cause some jumpy internet connections

That was the first thing I tried. I had my ISP replace my modem and tried connecting my 360 directly to the modem, but I still experienced a jumpy connection. I am just at a loss for what to do to fix the problem.
