How do you some people seem to magically know where you are even when there is no motion sensor? There have been tons of times where I was positive no one had seen me, especially the guy I was sneaking up behind, and all of the sudden he turns and is aiming right at my head. Same thing happens when I'm hiding behind corners with no weapons sticking out, I'll get grenaded or sniped because they know right where to aim(like I said, this is with no motion sensors.) It only happens once every few games, and only will occur with one individual.

Could it be my TV? We(the people that play halo at my house, I'm not that great but my brother is pretty good) have noticed that people are seeing us in situations that we would never see them. Perhaps we just have untrained eyes, because we are not used to so many players(we just started live a week ago.)

Any ideas to what is happening, besides the usuall, we just suck? lol

Thank you.

I doubt it's your tv. If you just started then you just aren't used to covering alot of ground with your eyes in a very short amount of time. With no radar you really have to be looking around alot. Thats why good ppl just seem to know you're there and turn around when your sneaking up, because they're "making rounds".If nobody is in front of you, then someone is probably behind you.

Chances are in a team game, someone saw you and told his teammate you are following him. Also some people just throw a nade in random places to be cautious. i know on warlock i will throw nades quite often into the bases to check for campers.

in games with no motion sensors especially, i like to throw grenades around corners or into rooms before i go there. otherwise, there is usually a hider who assassinates me or pops me with a shotgun. there are just a lot of common hiding places on each map that you need to be aware of.

it goes both ways too: say i'm hiding and i'm positive no one really knows where i am. if a grenade rolls around the corner and weakens me, i dont panic and jump out to run away. i'll stay put knowing that his grenade was just a guess. then when my shield does come back, i can run out and really surprise that guy who threw it since he figured i must not have been there.

the sniping thing is probably just the tip of your body or head being exposed, nothing else

Well, I found out that people will see you before you start sneaking around or see you if you run from behind one rock to the next rock and they guess where ur going and just wait for you.

I think somebody already said it but i'll say it again.

Without motion senser's, people are generally more aware. Taking every procaution. Turn around randomly to check. I have done that. And it saved me. Or throwing a nade around every other corner. I also do that. Saved me a few times. Also, once you play a map a lot, you get an idea of good hiding places. You get the idea that a person would be there hiding. Safety. And waiting for prey to walk on up. So they check every good hiding place to make sure. Trust me, it will get better later on live once you are more experianced. Just play for fun though.

I'm certifiable.

It could be that you have a predictable habit. If you tend to come back to the same place, or if you always dodge right, or if you always go for "x" weapon/powerup, your opponents may have noticed that and are then waiting for you.

For the sneaking up behind someone thing, it could be just a random turn to check (a "crazy Ivan", which is good policy anyway in games without the motion tracker) and good reflexes, or it could be he's using Dolby 5.1 sound and heard you behind him.

-- Steve knows that folks with the best "situational awareness" tend to be the ones winning the game; if they always seem to know where you are and what you're doing, it's easier for them to outmove and outshoot you. (Alas, he's not one of those types.)

What Anton said is true, and most of that stuff comes with time and playing experience. Knowing a level really well and having good teamates helps. In games without motion sensors, you have to constantly check your back, especially on Lockout and such.

You could just be getting players with good eyesight and good tvs or you might've been seen before you started sneaking up on them.

Trying to predict where an enemy will move is always a good thought process to have, especially when you're in a spot where a grenade in a doorway goes a long way to getting another kill.
