Subject: Is the NVIDIA GeForce 6100 a good video card for Halo 2 Vista?

Posted by: Duardo
I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

My new PC has the following videocard: NVIDIA GeForce 6100

I was just wondering if this is a good enough video card to support Halo 2 Vista?

New? How long ago did you get it? And what did the old one have?

The GeForce 6100 GPU is an integrated chipset, usually found on NForce Motherboards. It's fairly decent running most games up to 2005.

I have the exact same one. Runs Counter-Strike Source fine, and alot of others. Halo runs well with some adjustments (about 20-40 FPS). Not sure how Halo 2 Vista would do though.

This is the part where I make an arrogant, jackass comment:

I have an ice cream cone the size of a pen cap, do you think that'll fit my triple-scoop ice-cream sundae?

The answer is, maybe, but you're better off finding a bigger ice cream cone (in this case, a better graphics card). Good luck to yah.

Is an ATI X1950 XT-X a good card cause that's what I just bought and Tiger-Direct said it was a great card?

I'm not going to say it won't work, but I am going to say that if you're able to buy a new card, go for it.

Its at the MININUM requirements. It will be terrible. With an Intel GMA X3000, WIE rated 3.5 and it was -blam!-.

Get a nVidia GeForce 7950 or 8600. Or ATI Radeon X1900 or above

The 8800 Ultra happens to be the best dx9 card, it also happens to be the best dx10 card too. :D I wish I had one. :(

6100/6150 is the BARE MINIMUM. Even with the lowest settings...you're bound to have the most seizur-istic, stuttery, low-FPS experience.
