Subject: Is the NVIDIA GeForce 6100 a good video card for Halo 2 Vista?

Posted by: Duardo
I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

6100/6150 is the BARE MINIMUM. Even with the lowest settings...you're bound to have the most seizur-istic, stuttery, low-FPS experience.

Yep, I just noticed that, i got a gig of ram and Halo 2 Vista, jsut finished the Cairo mission.

I did find a new videocard that I will get in the enxt few months, it's a PCI 8600, Direct X10 ready.

Problem is if I do get that card... I need a new power supply to support it.

I would tell you if your video card would be able to play it or not, but I CAN'T because I am willing to bet a large sum of money that that is an onboard chipset, not a card. You need to upgrade, big time.

My new PC has the following videocard: NVIDIA GeForce 6100

I was just wondering if this is a good enough video card to support Halo 2 Vista?

Not to be a jackass, but that's rich, man. I have a Geforce Go 7300 and I barely meet medium settings. You'll be lucky if you hit low settings.

No one likes a smart ass.....especially another smart ass!

What is more important when picking a video card. Memory size (256, 512, etc) or Clock speed/Memory speed (600mhz, etc)?

  • 07.20.2007 4:22 AM PDT

Slaying noobs since 2007.

There is a lot of things that are important to a gpu, like pixel pipelines, type of memory, the speed of the core, the amount of streaming processors, and API supported.

Memory will help load times and in general make you able to run higher res textures. Clock speed, in general though, is slightly more important.
But as DesertFox said, Architecture is the most important factor. Generally speaking, the newer the better.

I have the same card (it's on-board). Trust me, THIS THING SUCKS! Sure, it meets minimum requirements, but even on low quality settings, the game is extremely choppy and the graphics look just as bad as the first game's. I'm upgrading to a better graphics card ASAP!

Actually, it looks pretty good on halo 2 Vista, but the problem wiht Halo 2 Vista using the NVIDEA GeForce 6100 is that the Framerate is crap.

I am getting a PCI 8600 Direct X10 ready later this week.

Wow, I didn't know they continued to support cards for PCI, let alone DX10 GPUs.

Halo is like tag, You just don't want to be it!
I am the first and original Sqartan.

Are any of these good enough for Halo 2 Vista, NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 (UMA) or Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950, if what would be good enough?
