Subject: Is the NVIDIA GeForce 6100 a good video card for Halo 2 Vista?

Dont even think about an Intel GMA 950. Halo 2 vista ran terribly under a Intel GMA X3000, WIE rated that 3.5.

Unnecessarily high speed anyone? 8800 Ultra?

Unnecessarily high cost. Save yourself a couple Benjamins and overclock it (a GTX) yourself.

Also, did anyone see that the GDDR4 1GB x2900xt's beat a couple 8800 ultras in Vista thanks to ATI's Vista Drivers? Suprising, especially considering how poor the 512 GDDR3 turned out.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

So would you guys reccomend an NVIDIA GeForce 7900?

The 8800 Ultra happens to be the best dx9 card, it also happens to be the best dx10 card too. :D I wish I had one. :(

If you want to run H2V then get a 7600 at least. I would recommend the 7900 cards, and there not to expensive.

  • 07.29.2007 3:55 AM PDT

What about the nvidia 8500 GT , I bought it yesterday - when loading H2V said i need to update graphic's driver .

Download the update, refresh your PC's score and you should be good.

My new PC has the following videocard: NVIDIA GeForce 6100

I was just wondering if this is a good enough video card to support Halo 2 Vista?
Are you insane, man? I have an Nividia 6200 TC, and it runs the game like total crap. Don't bother. Those cards are antiques. I recommend at least getting 7 series card. At least.

  • 08.17.2007 5:22 PM PDT

There's also the inexspensive ATI HD 2400, 2600, and 2900. Its a DX10 card but not as good as the 8 series but it gives you more bang for your buck. Visiontek(and only Visiontek) makes AGP editions of the 2400 PRO 130 bucks from Best Buy, there's the same one but overclocked from factory. Those have 256 MB of Vid mem. There's the 2600 PRO 256 180 buck from Best Buy and the 2600 PRO 512. There's also the 2600 XT 512 512 with the DDR3 mem. All of the VisionTek video cards have a Limited Lifetime warranty.

  • 08.17.2007 6:31 PM PDT

Also the rest of the video cards that i mentioned that are not from best buy... I can't seem to find them in any store.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time. I know who you are. You are destiny.

This is the part where I make an arrogant, jackass comment:

I have an ice cream cone the size of a pen cap, do you think that'll fit my triple-scoop ice-cream sundae?

The answer is, maybe, but you're better off finding a bigger ice cream cone (in this case, a better graphics card). Good luck to yah.
Ass jackery is the answer to our world's troubles. +1337

[EDIT]

I run with a GeForce 6800, and my processor is an AMD Anthlon 64 +3200, at 64 bit. and it works perfectly.

I still suffer one minor issue, and that is my PC shutting down on it's own if I play Halo 2 Vista in Full Screen Mode, but that might be due to lack of RAM at the moment.

Overall in Windowed Mode, it works wonders, again at somepoints it my skip (mainly in the ebgginings of Cinima Scenes) due to problems loading, but again another gig of RAM might do the trick.

Overall I am very happy with the experience I have gotten with the new card.

which card did you get?

  • 08.21.2007 7:45 PM PDT

West Side Gamers - it is what it is.

yeah gunna want to upgrade it for halo 2, it will run, but it will be -blam!-y and you will be seting the graphics the lowest they can go. i have a geforce 7600gt and i have it on high quality and it gets a little lagy here and there. im gunna upgrade for other games to... so i would say upgrade your video card. it would be atleast like 130 bucks for a good video card for halo 2. thats how much mine was
