I only have Halo 1 for pc and I was at wal-mart and I seen Halo 2 pc. I thought "hey now I can play Halo 2 online"
The reason I need Halo 2 pc is because i have dail up. I have called my local broadband provider and there is no service in my location. But what also made me mad the I remeber reading that I needed 7gb's of ram? There is no way I could play it now. But I play Halo 1 and my problem is since I run on Dail up I makes it seem really hard to kill people. I Shot this guy 12 times in the head with the pistol and he didn't die. Is the because of my dail up?

Probably. 7 KB\s is horribly bad. Dial up isn't for games. Get Low DSL. It's cheap and about 18x faster than Dial up.

He said it isn't available his area, same as me, but to answer your first question no it doesn't require 7 gigs, that would be insane. And please don't play online you will only ruin everyone else's expeirence online, don't give me the "you don't know what it's like to go along time without playing online!!!!", I do I have been trying to get broadband for 6 years and still don't have it. BTW, it's spelled dial-up.

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

Dial up is trash, thats your problem.

In high definition baby!

Halo 2 doesn't take that much space. Click here . I reccomend you get Halo 2 because it has a better netcode than Halo 1's and you can play Halo 2 on dial-up, but only one other person can play with you and not more. Try getting sattelite if DSL, cable, or other broadband service is not in your area. I've heard Hughes Net is good.

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

SATELLITE INTERNET IS YOUR ONLY OPTION.

Sorry about the caps, I just don't want to repeat that.

Download the map, unzip it to the "Maps" foldier in your Halo: Custom Edition folder and enjoy. And try reading the readme next time.

Oh, And don't hijack someone else's thread, just wait the 24 hours and make your own, or better yet, USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION!

Hm.
And here I thought I was the only poor sod stuck with dial-up.
The only thing I've found that helps when playing on dial-up is to open the task manager and end all unnecessary programs.
It still gets laggy when you play with more than 2 or 3 people, but it's less laggy than when you're also running other programs.
And, just to put an opinion forward, Xfire needs to slow down on the updates.
I can't even log into it.
It's 2MB update after another.
Or is that just because I went a few months without logging in?
Either way, it only intensifies my hatred of automatic updates.
Updates need a pause button, seriously.
Especially Windows updates.

I will cry for you tonight. Because it's been so long since I had dial-up I can't even imagine the pain it would take for a 2mb file LOL.
really though that does suck. I admire you guys that still make it on the forums every day, if I had load times like you I'd never be on B.net.

I should pay more attention to what I do.
I just realized that iTunes is open and has been playing for about 3 hours, judging by how far down my playlist it's gotten...
