The problem with people who support PETA, though, is that they dont know the whole story(such as yourself).
Millions of people a year are saved because of animal testing. Me and the majority of my family are part of this group (diabetes, heart disease, cancer, it all runs in my family). To condemn a million people in order to save a hundred lab rats, not only is an unfair tradeoff, but completely idiotic. (Dont even say that a million lab rats are killed for every million people, they only need to test it on a group of a few animals. Its not a 1 to 1 tradeoff) How can you justify that?
PETA also commits many crimes. Vandalism and assault are their favorite ones. Extremist members of PETA will go around and beat the -blam!- out of people who run animal shelters, meat plants, you name it. They also will set arson fires in animal testing labs. Many people will admit to these crimes and say that they are proud they did it. Then they go to jail, get out, and do the same thing over again. Oh, and they will also come to high schools and colleges and tell your children how to make bombs, and encourage them to go blow stuff up "in the name of animal rights".
Tell me, do you eat meat? Do you own a pet? Has anyone in your family ever had a stroke, heart attack, diabetes, cancer, or any other life threatening ailment and survived? Have you ever seen a blind man with a guide dog helping him down the street? Do you enjoy the zoo (where, i might add, animals are treated like royalty)? PETA wants to take all that away. They are against ALL OF THAT. Now why dont you tell me who you are willing to support? Why dont you tell me what great evil you think is done to animals? You dont even know evil, and neither does our whole generation. We have never seen slavery, we have never seen mass genocide, we have never seen a world war, we have never seen a child crying out on the street after his house was blown to rubble, never seen mass evil empires, never seen people burned at the stake for being against religion, or -blam!--blam!-, or speaking out for something they believe in, we have never seen totalitarianism, n,azism, communism, never seen a 200,000 people die in an atomic explosion, never seen women and children burned alive inside their homes by American soldiers. You have never seen these things, so you think that the evil in our society is directed towards animals.
Why dont you tell me, what great evil is done to animals?
Are you sure you've got your info strait? If I go beat the snot outta someone and say that it was for your organisation, does that make me a member of your organisation?
In case you're wondering, I do eat meat. I don't think it's right to discriminate against plants. Lol, just kidding. Eating other things is natural, and I've no problem with using some critters for testing that leads to medical advances- I'm all for medical advance! What I've a problem with is causing suffering that doesn't do anyone any good (unless you count satisfying sadistic desires) and can easily be avoided save for laziness, cruelty, etc.
Edit: Lol, I can just imagine my little brother sitting in school watching a presentation on how to make bombs...
I challenge you to link us to any creditable source for the information you posted here, you lying piece of -blam-. I would tell you what I think about using lies to promote an ideal (right or wrong), but that's surely not allowed in this forum... Does anyone here remember history lessons regarding any of the numerous nasty religious crusades fueled by false propaganda?
