Alright, after reading the halo books, I was thinking about how good they are as a team. The spartans always have eachothers backs. Imagine that on halo.

Which team would you rather have:

1) Four jerks that race for the sniper, betray who gets it, but are legit 36's. They would have no teamwork though.
2) Four players who use their strengths as the can, and have amazing teamwork. They would be legit 30's. THey would always have eachothers backs, and they would have great stratagies.

Which would you rather have? Personally, i'd rather have the 30's.

I would rather have the good teamwork fellas... even if they were only low 20's.

Good teammates, it's a no-brainer. Especially with double team. I've played with people who are 38s in Slayer, but have no team work. I find that it's the best to play with people I play with a lot, mostly my friends. We are only 30s, but we work so well together. I think to work well together, you must be around the same rank.

Not all 36's are retarded....

That aside, I still would rather have the 36's. Once they're done betraying they would destroy the 30's.

Trust me.

i would assume all of the higher levels wouldn't keep a high level by betraying...but if i get betrayed for something as trivial as a weapon, i'll make sure they won't win...play nice people.

You think it got what it takes to be..?.

God forbid you send me one of those I was checking for cool gamers and saw you messages too, I will scream to the top of my lungs and smash this damn screen/BlackBerry to pieces! You've been warned -_-

I faced a slew of 20s late teens and everybody on my team was in the teens. Because of great teamwork we won the game in close score. The other team decided to race for the oddball and try to score points. They were pretty good though.

you couldn't be more wrong..... a good TEAMshot is the key to winning any team game (br starts)

RIP Halo 2.

If you're talking 36 before the reset, that's not impressive at all. If you're talking 36 now, it's still not a huge deal. Matchmaking ranks aren't really a great indicator of skill.

  • 07.17.2007 6:16 PM PDT

ill take the team of 36's. Chances are they are all good with the sniper and when one gets it, the others will just go on with their gameplay and destroy the 30's

Lower ranked with teamwork >Higher ranked with individual skill.

Ranks don't matter anyway.

uhhh no offense but... u cant really have teamwork in Halo 2, all the game is is jumping around shooting, beat downs, and grenades. i mean if halo were more like rainbow six vegas, then i could see the point , but with sumthing this unstrategic then i really see no point, dont get me wrong though, i think halo is a great game, just not very strategic....

The 36's would win the individual battle every time. They know how to play and they know hot spots on the map. The level thirty wouldnt be able to do anything because they would be getting out slayed all game.

If option 2 were to have amazing teamwork etc...etc...then they wouldn't be just 30's. you don't become a legit 36 by fluke and you certainly don't become a 36 by running around the map john rambo stylee !! hahaha a legit 36 certainly has knowledge of the game and how to play, so your assumption of them having no teamwork at all is rather silly.

Im pretty sure, infact certain that at the end of the game the 30's would be losing Experience.

Yes you do get some people who are not worthy of being a 36 but that can be vice versa and in general and 9 times outta 10 i know which one i would place my bet on.

I'd settle for option 1..............

Umm, have you ever seen Ogre, or any of the elite MLG players play. One on ONe they are just barely above average but they know each other strengths and weaknesses as well as their own, and communicate and work well as a team. Thats why the domintae the Halo circuits,. thats why they win consistently.

Barely above average? Apparently you havent played with any pros, lol. Im going to tell you this just once so listen closely.

Unless you are an incredibly talented player you will not be able to keep up with pros/semi pros. They are and most likely always will be better than you at FFA, 1 vs 1 and in teams. They study this game inside and out 24/7, this is their job. Not only is their BR so accurate that they rarely ever miss, but their strategies coupled with their ability to button glitch if they need to and their uncanny knowlede of the maps makes them better than you. The whole "rumor" about the pros being "average" was made because someone wanted to feel better about themselves. Its not true.

You gotta have teamwork to win at higher levels of play. 4 guys running around alone will usually always lose to a well trained team. Thats why when clans practice they use the same strategies and stuff, learn to communicate quickly and accurately, and learn to think like each other during the game. Thats when you get a perfect team.

The topic here pertains to one team being full of 36's and one team being 30's. In this case, the 2 teams are not the same levels and teamwork wouldnt be too much of a help when the 36's are constantly owning the 30's

No team can win if they don't play as a team. Even if the 4 36's were randomly thrown together, they would communicate and use teamwork. Thats how you get to be a legit 36. Ranks don't really matter anyway, its about the skill, and team skill is just as important as individual skill.

I know that 4 36's together would use teamwork. You are trying to stray away from the topic. He is asking if you would rather have 4 36's that dont work as a team. It is set up so they DONT use teamwork. In a true game, they will use teamwork yes, but in this case he is asking which you would rather have. Its an artificially set up question.

He exaggerated slightly, but he makes a solid point. A lot of the pros playing individually aren't that amazing individually. Now I'm not saying I wouldn't get out-strafed and out-BR'd by most pros, but there isn't really a huge gap between pros and other players. Yes, they're going to have better BRs and be better at FFAs (lots and lots of practice with other good people) but there's really two things that set them apart - consistency and teamwork. Pro teams have functioning as one down to a reflex. It's the ability to communicate, support, set up, and control that wins games. A team with a good strategy and control of the map will generally beat a team with slightly better individual skill with the BR. Since these players have amazing teamwork and very consistent skill levels, very powerful teams are formed.

Assume it's a Sancuary (sp?) game. The 30s' are at a base with a sniper, and three people with BR's. The 36's keep charging from different places. The 30's all go for the same person, because they have good teamwork. I doubt the 36's would be able to do anything against them.
