Using my 360 wired headset, with 360 wireless controller, and Microsoft's Wireless Gaming Receiver. Found this knowledge base article:

But Microsoft's drivers don't provide the mentioned "Custom tab" or the "Microphone – 20dB Boost check box." Wiring the headset to my soundcard I do get that option and enabling it of course fixes the problem, but then I can't get voice out the headphone and I'd much prefer not to have to run a wire all the way from my computer to my couch either.
Any chance there is a config file or registry setting somewhere I can use to bump up the record volume a little more? It just needs a bit really and it is apparently game specific as Shadowrun response well enough if I talk reasonably loud but in Halo 2 I litterally have to shout for my voice to even be acknologed.
