Let me sum everything up:
* It's a video game.
* Since when the Hell did side-arms win interstellar conflicts alone? I don't think people find the M6D to be so "unrealistic" as they find it absurd that a side-arm is a more effective and accurate weapon than the assault rifle, for Pete's sake. Because of the fact that the assault rifle is underwhelming in terms of range and accuracy, the void left by the lack of a main weapon is filled up by the pistol's traits.
* It's a video game.
* Whoa, you can put scopes on a Desert Eagle! What kind of idiot is going to use a scoped side-arm over his primary weapon, like an SMG or an assault rifle, which is supposedly more accurate and fires at longer distances?

WHO SAYS THE M6D IS unrealistic!??Exactly, so why the Hell did you post this to begin with?
People don't find the M6D to be so "unrealistic" (I'm using it in quotes, because it's quite pointless arguing with the issue of realism in a video-game--in Halo, no less) as "Why the Hell does the assault rifle suck ass in the fact that it's not chosen by players to be their primary weapon so they choose the pistol instead?"
EDIT: Wow, I seriously hate this lay out. Previously on Bungie.net, you could put asterisks in brackets and that would create a bullet, but now it just gives you an asterisk. Weak.
