To most people who seem to have not read the book, I'm here to provide a chronological look out so you know what's actually going on up until Halo 2 happens. This will contain spoilers so if you havent read the books and dont wanna get ruined, dont read this. Otherwise, continue, and if someone sees something and wants to correct me, by all means please do.

An Overview of Halo: Fall of Reach:
Keyes and Dr. Halsey pluck out John (Soon to become master chief) as well as all the other candidates to become Spartans. Keyes goes off on his own, while Halsey is now in charge of the Spartan-II project. All Spartan candidates, 6 years of age, undergo extensive training under the watchful eye of CPO (Chief Petty Officer) Mendez. As they grow older, they grow stronger, wiser, tactical. John makes leader at a very young age, after ensuring no one is left behind on a mission. Fast Forward a bit, and the Spartan children undergo bioenhancenments in which they become stronger, reflexes improve, accuracy, etc, etc. You know the drill there. Only roughly a little more then half survive, and some of those are paralyzed (Fahjad) and some later go on to become tacticians for ONI (Office of Naval Intelligence).

It's at this time that CPO Mendez leaves the Spartans, who are now 14 years old, to go off and train "a new batch of Spartans." It's the last time JOHN SEES HIM (JOHN! Not necessarily Kelly or anyone else if people haven't noticed). A tearful goodbye, and ---

So fast forward again, you now have the Uber Spartans of today, minus the MJOLNIR armor. They go on only 1 mission that's detailed about a rebelling colony that doesn't wish to be included in the UNSC's rule. The Spartans, a small team of John, Kelly, Linda, and some others, go in to remove the president of this colony. Successfully done, the timelines fast forward again. Now this time Dr. Halsely is giving them their MJOLNIR armor, Mark V. They get even stronger from it, and faster. It feels like it melds to them like another layer of skin. Moving along, the Covenant have at this point contacted humanity with their proclamation of killing humans; "We are the instruments of God and it is the Gods will to destroy you." Something along those lines. A mission befalls the Spartans to try and protect Sigma Octanus (Right?). Anyway, while there they encounter Hunters for the first time ever, and are able to infiltrate this museum. IT seems the covenant are after this strange stone, so the Spartans get the stone and get the hell outta there.

Anyway, Dr. Halsley gathers the Spartans to tell them of a mission to take over a Covenant ship and kidnap a Prophet in order to force a treaty between their races. It turns out there have been 3 KIAs, and there are another 3 Spartans not THERE at all, that they are on missions far away!! Then Reach is attacked. John, Linda, and James go off to ensure that a ship is destroyed so the Covenant dont get information on Earth whereas all the others head down to Reach in order to protect it from the incoming land troops.

James is killed, it seems, and Linda seems to be dead as well but John brings her back with him to the Pillar of Autumn and places her in a cryo tube. It is assumed all other Spartans were killed, and the Pillar of Autumn with Keyes piloting and Cortana take off to find...Halo.

Halo: The Flood
So we know most of this story; It IS Halo. There are some side stories to recognize though, such as is Mobuto, the first reclaimer who made it amazingly far for the Library. It is unseen how he could have made it thus far but it is concluded by Master Chief that Mobuto was "one hardcore SOB." Additionally another side story thats important is that of the Truth and Reconciliation is DEFINITELY destroyed thanks to the efforts of Liutenant McKay who makes sure the Flood don't escape. Aside that there's not too much new.

Halo: First Strike
The first part of the novel details the initial parts of the Reach attack with the other Spartan team, seems they all didn't die immediately and are in fact split into groups, one to save an Admiral Whitcomb (led by Spartan Anton, Grace, and Li). Whereas Fred and Kelly and maybe some others (correct me here please if necessary) go off to stop some of the Wraiths (alien tanks) and troops.

Back to Master Chief, So not everyone's dead!! A pilot named Polasky, a ODST named Locklear, an ONI agent named Haverson, and of course, everyone's favorite hardcore marine, Sergeant Johnson!! Also they find a jettisoned cryo tube with who else in it, but Linda!!! Somehow Sergeant Johnson survived the Flood due to "Boren's Syndrome," a disease that screws up the nervous system of the individual which untreated might become fatal. Somehow the Flood TRIED infection and instead bestowed some type of more advanced regenerative property on Sergeant Johnson (Which we have yet to see in action).

They go through some trials and tribulations of getting away from the Covenant and are able to infiltrate one of their enormous ships, Ascending Justice! Securing a good portion of it, though not the entire thing, Cortana finds herself swarming with info, still trying to process everything absorbed on Halo and now with the Covenant information such as SPECIFIC Slip stream travel.

Turns out that the stone found on Fall of Reach was actually spacial coordinates, 1 of the coordinates being to Halo Installation 04, and the other...To Reach itself. So since they can't go back to Earth immediately, thanks to the Cole protocol, It's decided that they all go to Reach, Master Chief having his own reasons of hope for others to be alive.

Kelly, Fred and Will find themselves heading towards CASTLE the underground base of Dr. Halsey's. Turns out she's alive too, and fixes them up and all. Dr. Halssey infiltrates some records of Ackerson, an individual that is a strong competitor of hers, and discovers the S-III and CPOMZ files (which we still dont know about, though I assume it has something to do with Spartan-III project and CPO Mendez). Also found is the "Kind Under The Hill" files which details the CASTLE facility much more then she knew. The Spartans and Dr. Halsey uncover that there is an ancient facility with a strange rock when they are trapped in the underground place.

Turns out Spartans are alive! Well, some are... Master Chief helps rescue Anton, Li, Grace, Kelly, Will, and Fred and additionally, Admiral Whitcomb and Dr. Halsey!! Turns out the Covenant know where Earth is. So they escape CASTLE and try to escape with a slipstream jump. Turns out the rock that Dr. Halsey found morphs the slip stream travel to be much faster yet... Strange effects (I'm honestly not sure of everything there myself).

In this Strange Slipstream travel, Polasky is killed when trying to fly and do a repair caused by a breach in the hull. Additionally, Anton and Li are killed in the same scramble. They find and attach a UNSC cruiser (I believe) called Gettysburgh in order to up the power.

Anywway, they discover where the Covenant are all meeting up, hoping to amass forces and stage an attack but before they can, they need repairs. So they head off to that first UNSC colony that the Spartans infiltrated in Fall of Reach.

They get welcomed a little less then hospitably. But due to some improvisional skills and bluffs, get their repairs, or at least some. That's when Dr. Halsey decides she needs to save the lives of all, takes Kelly (against her will), and flies off into the night; A question left open for another day?

The rest of the group regroups and heads off just as The colony is beginning to get destroyed. Locklear, enraged by the death of Polasky (he liked her btw), decides to destroy the rock that alters slip stream. As a resultant the rock is lost forever, and Locklear is killed as well. The group finds themselves at the point and the Spartans go for one last mission, to infiltrate the ENORMOUS command center, Unyielding Heirophant, and set it to blow. At the loss of Grace, they are successful, now leaving Spartans John, Linda (revived by Dr. Halsey), Fred, and Will. Brutes are introduced here.

They escape, barely, and find the Gettysburgh, detached from the Ascendant Justice, and board it. Whitcomb and Haverson have gone in the Ascendant Justice in order to lure more ships towards the Command Center, Unyielding Heirophant. The command center explodes with many ships around it thanks to their efforts. So the Gettysburgh escapes now heading towards Earth, with Sergeant Johnson, Cortana, and the 4 Spartans: John, Linda, Will, and Fred.

So that's where it's at. 4 Definite spartans, a hardcore marine and a friggin smart AI. The books are much better then my descriptions and please anyone feel free to add in whatever I left out.

My thumbsticks will be your Doom.... sorry 'bout that.
My Stats

Wow that was a pretty good try Spartan 004. I don't know if you posted this after my recommendation that someone do so under the"(new spartans" thread but it was a very good attempt. My only suggestion would be that you make it more formal, like a calendar, and definietly list times and dates (almost to every chapter throughout the 3 books, being careful how not all of the chapters in all 3 books progress in linear fashion).

Also most importantly, once it's refined it must become a STICKY! so that it won't get lost and all who come to New Mombasa can refer to it.

True, but my books are in my room and I'm lazy, so eh...I just decided what the hell, try without the books. The Attack on Reach is on August 30, 2552, and It's mid-September by the end of First Strike, or something along those lines. And yea, I did get the idea to do this since your thread in "New Spartans" - it seemed to make sense to do it.

Beautiful - I've never read the books, but that sure clears a lot of things up and prevents me from asking moronic questions in the future. THANK YOU SPARTAN004!!!

Oh, and some dates like Doom Sticks said before would be nice, just to get a timeframe and idea...thanks again:0)

Thanks, that clears up a lot and helps too when people are arguing about stuff like a Spartan-III project and Spartans being in Halo 2. Cheers.
