Should this work for 1680x1050 on medium with AA at 2-sample for Halo 2?
EVGA GeForce 7900gs
Gigabyte GeForce 8600GT
XFX GeForce 8600GT Fatal1ty
Sapphire Radeon HD2600XT replaced with MSI GeForce 8600GT

I know for sure the 8600 definitely can, I don't know about the 7900 though.

By the way, chill on putting up new threads. Put them all in one.

Oh come on, all those cards except the 7900 are DirectX 10 cards. I've read reviews about them all on NewEgg with a lot of people saying they use maximum settings and high resolutions in games like Far Cry and Battlefield while maintaining above 60 FPS average. I think they'll handle Halo 2 just fine.

My X1600PRO can handle 4x AA on 1280x1024 at about 25-30 FPS. It's not much, but I think it's good for an X1600PRO.

Ah, sorry DP.
Forgot, yes, I think it does support those settings.
EDIT: Wait, when did H2V support any res over 1280x800?

Sapphire Radeon HD2600xt

Yes it is.

I don't want that anymore. Ratings look bad.

Slaying noobs since 2007.

Just grab yourself an 8600. But, if you can wait another year for the 9'er series then grab the 7900.

Sorry to barge in on the thread, but what resolutions does H2V actually support?

PS, I would get the 8600

Slaying noobs since 2007.

The best is the 8600 GT, but that's if you meant out of your selection, the best possible is currently the 8800 GTX Ultra.

I'm actually going to buy two 8600GTS cards soon. I want to do SLI. It's pretty much the most affordable GOOD DX10 card. Only $150 or so.

Go with the Gigabyte 8600 GT. The Fatality version doesn't look like it's worth the extra money for the overclock. I have a 7900 GS, and it's a good card, but it doesn't like Halo 2.

If you plan on buyong two 8600s then don't waste your time as one 8800 would destroy the SLI and cost the same.
