It seems that i could play Halo singleplayer (sometimes) but when it gets to multiplayer it starts 1)freezing, 2) an 'exception' crap happens, 3) something about FX.bin going out the door.
I've had halo for quite a while, and it was working until 1.05 and 1.06 updates came.
i'm running a Athlon xp 3000+, 256 Corsair DDR333 CL2.0, On a 128mb Radeon 9500 Pro with the latest drivers.

i'm thinking it has to be the video. I tried the Strings and other file but all i got was 'corrupt halo.exe'..

I woulda liked to search to see if other people have encountered this problem, but i'm not in the mood to search all 941 pages of postings.

this is getting superweak!

Heyyo,

Well, I seem to have the same prob dude, lots of crashing, I think it's the patch, cause before v1.06 I rarely had exception errors. The corrupt thing is either you installed the patch wrong, or it messed up during the install process, try reinstalling...

i've re-installed. i've also removed registries connected to halo and i've relocated install locations.. (C:/blahblah/halo, d:/blahblah/halo, e:/blahbnlah/halo).
i'll try installing the patch again, it was done automatically on the multiplayer update.

Oh ya, also *if* it doesn't completely crash my computer, the VPU recover pops up.

man..

Heyyo,

Heh, I take it you have an ATI videocard, nice choice btw. ;)

Ok, for update v1.06, check that stickey thread, you'll need to download the autoupdate.exe from one of those links, and replace yours with it, cause the v1.05 autoupdater seems to not be compatible with v1.06... dunno why...
