Policy

I think is pretty rediculous that i could get banned for some of the reasons stated there. No one complained when people had nothing to talk about other than random speculation.

I also think the policy is offensive towards the ninjas. Its like telling them" hey i dont like the way the forums are doing so do a better job, here are some pointers". I thought the ninjas where doing a good job, i dont want the forums to become some extremely strict forum. I want to be abel to post "Thats cool", or create a thread called " Elites are AwSoMe".

What do you guys think of the new policy?

Granted, it'll be strict for those whom cannot control their mouths...however, it's pretty much the way most respectable members of the Bnet Community post (or at least should be posting) and it's not too unreasonable to ask for some general order. Let's face it, none of us want to see the exact same thread posted about 10 times in a row...besides, it's so much more funny to see an entire Board filled with [(\)(Locked)..ima lol haxx] than one with spam threads and topics continuously ongoing, aye?

That's new? I always thought common sense was a rule. Better late than never, I guess.

You say tomato; I say potato.

I think they aren't strict enough. A lot of new members do not grasp the concept of a forum. These people ass.u.me that forums are organized chat rooms where saying "in before the lock" might not have much of an effect, but here statements like that can derail even the most interesting of threads.

You've got to think crazy, of course, because you only get innovation by refining insanity. - Jason Jones

I dont understand what is so hard about using a little intelligence when on the forums. Almost 5 years here and I have never once considered flaming someone or posting something that woud get me in trouble. I do understand that a lot of the people that post on these forums are younger and overdosed on bawls, but come on. People posting the same thread over and over again in the same forum, on the same page is just crazy. Everyone complained about having a search feature, they have one and they dont use it? I fail to see the logic. But I suppose these are the issues you run into when running a public forum.

To be quite honest if I were a moderator and I saw someone flaming or doing something that was clearly outlined in the rules, I would ban them on the spot. No sorry or warning, you were informed that rules were in play and you decided against, to bad so sad goodbye. But I am not a moderator so my opinion and 'insight" havn't any pull or weight.

Recon, try using the dawnfang blade, the more you slaughter the stronger and better it gets.

Hey you saw my sig! :)
Their was a time when this was under a post. Simpler times; no Halo 3 Forum and no search. Simpler times. Happy about search though.

Lets all chip in and give the mods chain guns.

Yes, we know what it's from. ;) We should probably stay on topic.
*Cough* RECON *Cough*

If Recon can get a leash on that thing he carries around in his head, (I believe it's called a "Rocket-Powered Steam Locomotive") we could get back on topic about the epic new policy that really clears that forum up and makes it far more enjoyable.

Let me just get you my +3 Mirthril Mace of the Ban. It also does +1 damage on top of the +3 vs. Pillage.

*Throws it to Recon*

Oh yea, I like the new policy. The Halo 3 Forum needed to be cleaned up badly.

Anyways, back on topic....I personally think (and have always though) that the Ninjas do a great job at moderating the Forums...they do a muuch better job than any other Ninja I've ever see- wait sorry, you can't see Ninjas - heard of. I applaud you all [/suckup]

You can tell someone about the rules until you are blue in the face, and post stickies all day long. The fact of the matter is every day we get new members (assuming, which isn't a good thing to do) that are itching to get themselves heard and pay no attention to rules. Granted it isn't as though the rules are out of sight, they are at the top of the page for everyone to see. So far today the forum has been cleaned out and lots of repeat topics have vanished. The only problem now is keeping that up. One of the best ways to fix a problem is to get rid of it. Once a rule is broken, that person should be booted. While that is harsh and probably in some peoples view unnecessary, rules are meant to be followed.

I just wish I hadn't been stupid and got myself banned.

I highly regret it.

Sounds a bit harsh, but overall I think it's for the greater good. It'll be nice to see a decrease in rampant, unsupported speculation.

It's not a "new" policy. These are rules that the members should of been following since they joined. If anything, we need a mod at the Halo PC forums to help clean up.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

I say, it's about damn time. Now I can actually look at the forum!! At least now though, it isn't an eye sore to look at. People in there were getting way out of hand, and have been getting away with many things these past few months *cough*Cortana in E3 Trailer*cough*. In any case, I like the new approach to things.
