I was playing The Great Journey today, and I was up to that bit where you are guiding the Scarab. We'd gotten to the control room, and you know how that Elite in the Banshee lands on the shore? Well the Banshee had gold plates on it! It wasn't a Heretic Banshee. It had these Forerunner-ish golden plates all over it.
It was pretty cool = )
Don't be too swift to accuse him of lying; not in this case anyway.
Using the object overload (O.O) process, it's possible to browse, or scan, through an object's textures like characters, vehicles, boxes etcetera. You change, or see, a different colour design by changing your viewing angle.
I won't going into detail about how to see other textures, however, I will say that, on The Great Journey map, there is a fire light texture for the Banshee; there is fire inside the Control Room after the entrance door is destroyed, and, that texture exists on the map for that reason. If you manage to see this light effect outside, or anywhere bright, it'll look like the Banshee is gold. It's not only the Banshee that has that light effect, it's the Wraith, Phantom, Brutes and pretty much anything else.
It's rare, however, sometimes you'll experience light or texture glitches during the game without an object overload; a dirty or damaged disc may be the cause of this. Perhaps, your sighting, occured for this reason. Interestingly aswell, the only place the fire light texture can be seen is, outside of the Control Room; this is where you were.
If were experiencing any colour glitches during the game, this'll explain why you saw a gold Banshee; it isn't exactly gold however, it's a fire orange, yellowish colour.
Noteworthy: If you use the object overload to browse textures, you can change a Covenant Banshee into a Heretic one; not permanently though. Other, unseen colour schemes can be witnessed aswell.
Anywise, Digi7, was the Banshee more of a fire glowing light effect rather than gold?
