Hey what's up? I was playing Halo Combat Evolved today and I was playing 343 Guilty Spark. I was killing the flood not thinking too much about it when I realised. The flood were released by the covenant by mistake on Alpha Halo (The halo I am currently on) But in Halo 2 on Delta Halo the flood return. How did they come back? Were the covenant stupid enough to release them again? Can someone please explain how the flood got to delta halo?

I guess that could be the case. I thought that the covenant ordered all of their ships to pull out before the flood could reach any of them. Truth and Reconciliation was the only one that fell and that's why the covenant freaked, and eliminated them. I guess the flood did manage to repair Truth and reconciliation. The other option is that they repaired a damaged pelican and flew to delta....

Since Delta Halo is the home of Gravemind, he may have done it. That is if no other Halos have a Gravemind like creature.

The flood are contained in all of the installations i think. The covenant being the dimwits they are released them both times.

I THINK that the covenant were already there. I'm pretty sure the Halo's are weapons that forerunners created that the floods inhabited.

Inless I misread the halo books, that's it.

Hahahahaha, 100 free internets to you.

They're on every ring as said before, but are they on anything but the rings?

Yes, Installations like the one on Threshold (See The Arbiter/The Oracle in Halo 2)

Also, I believe it was actually the Humans who released the Flood on Delta Halo, however the Covenant were there before the humans (see the beginning cutscene of Delta Halo, Halo 2). Note that the Humans were ahead of the Covies in getting to the Index, so evidence shows, Humans let them escape.

I'm pretty sure this is the correct answer. More than positive, actually.

Oh geez.

On Delta Halo, the flood were never properly contained. Most likely do to Gravemind's presence.
On the level, "100,000 years war" we see that the flood have been contined, but not entrely, behind he sentinel wall. This is why the sentinel wall was built. However, they didn't have bodies until humans and the covenant showed up. They were most likely in spore form and evolved into infection forms... don't ask me how. Once humans and the covenant arrived, they quickly took over once the covenant attacked the wall in order to reach the Index. The sentinal wall was shut down and the flood were released.

Hope that helps.
