It's the variety of gametypes that makes Halo 2 (IMO) multiplayer superior to GoW. Well, variety and the party system so you can stay with a group of friends through multiple ranked games. Well, variety, the party system, and matchmaking so you get a good mix of the maps instead of the same old ones. Well, variety, the party system, matchmaking, and in-game use of vehicles to add tactical depth. Well, variety, the party system, matchmaking, vehicles, and broader weapon selection...
Okay, maybe I'm a fanboy. Then again, there has to be a reason that Halo 2's multiplayer is still getting so much use nearly three years after its release.
-- Steve enjoyed the heck out of Gears of War, don't get him wrong... it's a really fun game. But it's Halo 2 that keeps drawing him back.
