Who do these halo pro's think they are? ..........Celebrities !! GTFO

WTF is going on in the world. Some players are charging ( per hour ) to teach you some strategies and their gameplay via pay pal. hahaha WHAT !!

I know at least 6 pro players who are doing this. Upto $45 per session ( one hour )...........Surely people are not taking them up on the offers.
hahaha if it wasn't bad enough getting double shotted by them. They come back and mug us.....hahaha

100% true pal...........no BS. Its unbelievable aint it.

one guy was charging $45 for the first hour and then $40 for any more lessons after that. Another pro was charging like $35 per hour and the others didn't know how much to charge but wanted paying for their services.

Now these services included how to button glitch, how they train and warm up etc...., team strategies and how to play smart.

WOW i mean if these guys have been getting paid then, good for them !!! but seriously ARE people actually paying ?? its crazy

  • 07.20.2007 12:33 PM PDT

RIP Halo 2.

They're offering a service and getting a good amount of money in return. Good for them. I personally think the idea of paying for lessons is absolute ludicrous though. I highly doubt anything they tell you isn't something you can learn by watching gameplay videos and just playing thew game with good people. I think someone should pay for lessons and record the whole thing and post it online, it'd be hilarious to see Halo lessons getting "pirated."

Thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard. There are a million ways to get better on your own rather then pay somebody. That doesnt even guarantee that you wont suck. It comes easier for some people (motorskills etc). These people who pay are noobs lol

The Flood's resident metalhead.

I find it kinda weird myself... I just watch a lot of pro vids and see how they play and stuff...

wow, that's almost buying another game with that money. People who would pay that are just too lazy to get out there and put in the dedication the pros have. Even then you STILL need practice to be as good as them

Whoa. That really is ridiculous. Judging by their game alias, they're probably twelve year old kids. I feel sorry for anybody stupid, or desperate, enough to actually hand money.

Anywise, I was thinking of starting my own similar thing. I'll charge you, fifty sterling a session, to learn Ninja skills; forum Ninja skills.

Anyway, what bull-blam!-.

Wow. I'm not that good, but I would never pay money for lessons to get better. It's just a video game. Sheesh.

I came across a site like that not to long ago. gaminglessons or something like that. they charge $30-$45 an hour and want you to at least get 3 hrs of "training". HA!

just go here: youtube.com/airguitar901 the dude posts a lot of H2 and H3 montages and games by pro players and teams. you can learn a lot by watching them, and it's free!

You cant learn anything by watching a montage. If you refuse to take lessons then id advise you to watch VoD or other actual gameplay vids. I cant speak for all the pros and semi pros but I can tell you that the ones I know that charge for lessons do it for two reasons.

1. To deter bad kids or kids that arent serious from trying to get lessons. If youre willing to pay for them then youre really serious about getting good. Taking one lesson wont do anything for you and its a waste of your time and money as well as a waste of the pros time because he could be doing other things like practicing or sc-blam!- or whatever else.

2. A good portion of the pro/semi pro teams are still not sponsored or only partially sponsored. This money helps to curb the cost of flights, hotels, registration fees, food, taxis and spending money at events. For some of them it even helps to supplement their income.

Im not pro but I do teach for free. I have several friends that are up and comming that teach for very nominal fees like $5-$10 per hour.

You are correct. You can only learn so much from watching gameplays unless you truly understand the game and understand why that person did what they did. There is no substitute for 1 on 1 lessons from a better player that knows what he is talking about. The best players are still raw unless they truly understand all the subilties....but then again, they wouldnt be the best players unless they understood it all would they?

You think it got what it takes to be..?.

God forbid you send me one of those I was checking for cool gamers and saw you messages too, I will scream to the top of my lungs and smash this damn screen/BlackBerry to pieces! You've been warned -_-

I'd rather learn naturally than artificially.

Hey, Texan, all human beings learn naturally; we don't have data inserted into our brains, do we?

What BMW means by naturally, I think, is that you pick up skill and discover new techniques for yourself; you don't have somebody telling you how to play and do things. You increase and progress you skills through experience.

Anywise, it doesn't matter what he meant, we all learn naturally; this is my prime point.

I never paid for lessons, I just have lots of friends that teach them. I was very fortunate that I had really good friends when I was trying to not be a noob and they helped me out alot. Most of the Halo community isnt as lucky as I was, thats why I teach for free.
