I've gotten to that point where Halo and Halo 2 have kind of run their courses for me. The only real thrill I get from it these days is playing multiplayer, and sometimes co-op.

But co-op is beginning to annoy me. Not because of the game itself, but the people it's played with. I know the Halo and Halo 2 campaigns like the back of my hand, but not everyone else does. So, due to that, I can be picky when choosing who I am going to play with.

I don't tend to enjoy playing co-op with new players as much as older ones. Why? Because with a new player, I have to teach them how to play, get them used to it, and even after that, every time I go off their screen, they shout "Where did you go?!", when most times, I just moved to a different part of the room, or I went behind them, or something like that.

And (especially with younger kids) then there's the fact that they tend to have no idea what is happening in the game. They either don't listen to the dialogue in the game, or just don't care, so I have to spend time telling them what we're doing, and how to do it, when they could have just paid attention.

That's why I prefer to play with more seasoned Halo-ers. They know what's happening to some degree, and though they may not know exactly what to do, or where to go, they have some idea, and they actually give a crap.

This would be a good time to point out that the US Government seriously did consider nuking the moon during the Cold War as a show of force. Project A119.

"A large explosion on the Terminator line would put the sun behind the mushroom cloud, making the explosion visible with the naked eye from Earth."

Then the US decided they'd just send in Neil Armstrong to land on it. Neil Armstrong - the one man on the earth that was considered a suitable replacement for a nuclear missile.

So, Halo turns you off huh? I bet pornos turn you on, right?

EDIT: I had to do it. I didn't even read the thing though......

You know how the old saying goes: If you have nothing useful to say, keep your mouth shut so you don't end up looking like a jackass.

Now hold the hell up. At what point did I say I picked on people who were new to Halo? I want a verbatim answer.

and you HATE playing with the new people cos " you have to teach them how to play "

Again, when did I say I "HATE" playing with new people? Give me a direct quote, or your point has no validity.

Thankfully, you reminded me of a point I was going to make. I learned myself. I didn't have anyone to show me the ropes, I played it and beat it all on my own.

So your saying you picked up your controller, threw in halo 1 or 2 ( which ever you played first ) and knew how to play instantly ? no i thought not, so in saying that its rather hypocritical to suggest that its a " turn off " when playing some campaign with new people.

The campaign is a turn off for you, like it is for everyone else cos its actually -blam!- !!!! The multiplayer is whats keeping this game alive pal !!

Who really wants to play campaign alone or split screen with a friend now ?? not many.............

Three years and running.

Straight into the ground!

Aha!!

Seriously though, I can't stand the Campaign
(too easy on Herioc --and horrendously thought out in Legendary. I'd love trying to work my way through it if it wasn't for if one of you dies, you "both" die)

Are we speaking the same language? I know I'm speaking English, but you seem to be translating it into Dumbass.

Again, find the point where I said that I knew how to play instantly. Because I remember saying that I learned to play.

so in saying that its rather hypocritical to suggest that its a " turn off " when playing some campaign with new people.

How the bloody hell is it hypocritical for me to not enjoy playing with new players as much as seasoned ones? Jesus, what happened in your life to make you so out of it?

The campaign is a turn off for you,

No, I said I was growing bored of it. God almighty, learn to read.

I'm going to make this painfully clear to you.

* I'm growing bored of the campaign.
* Co-op and Multiplayer are the only interesting parts to me anymore.
* I don't care for playing with newer players.

Can you handle that?

So if everything that i have said to you is BS and -blam!- ed up

No I didn't.

.........what exactly are you here moaning about ??

I'm just blowing a little steam. If you have some sort of problem with this, just leave.

Christ! Can you people not read? I said co-op. He said campaign. They are different things. Should I make an analogy for you?

You think it got what it takes to be..?.

God forbid you send me one of those I was checking for cool gamers and saw you messages too, I will scream to the top of my lungs and smash this damn screen/BlackBerry to pieces! You've been warned -_-

This is why Bungie should place online co-op in Halo 3. This is a good example.

That would definitely extend the longevity of Halo 3.

Has there been any confirmation of this being a certainty? As the author said, this will highly prolong the game's longevity. I also hear campaign will be based online.

Anywise, to the author of the thread: Interesting read (your primary post), finding a perfect partner in the co-operative mode is pretty much impossible; for me aswell. Even whilst playing with an experienced player, they'll often make their own decisions and completely counter the teamwork element of the game. Playing this mode online will definitely increase the chances of finding that suitable and likewise thinking co-op buddy. I hope the co-op online feature makes it into Halo 3.
