What, am I the ONLY one who thinks that that Warthog looks fake? If you enlarge the picture, it looks CGI. I mean, it's very close to realistic, but it seems off. It doesn't look real to me. Am I the only one who thinks this?

Yes

What, me worry?

I can't begin to express what a HUGE dissapointment (and frankly, failure) it would be for Microsoft and Bungie if H3 ships without the ability for online co-op. Online Co-op is practically a standard feature on FPS games on the 360; for H3 to not have that ability would be an embarassing failure, in my view.

Cries of "our AI is extra complicated" or whatever is a hollow excuse. I'm confident the game will be great in every other respect, but I, for one, just can't accept any excuse were it to ship without online Co-op.

How about less work on movies, comic books, graphic novels, figurines, t-shirts, helmets, RTS versions of the game, Halo-themed controllers, consoles, MP3 players and all that other stuff and more work on the game? Hell, I'd even give up the ability to share films of my games in exhange for the ability to share the campaign portion (remember, Bungie, the "most important" part of the game?) of the game itself with others, in real-time.

"We came, we saw, we conquered, then realized we had no way home."

Aw man! That was one freaking awesome weekly update! I've been waiting to see a real Warthog for a while now and that is simply amazing. Now all they need is another two for the movie and we're set, lol.

What disapoints me is the fact that Baltimore is wedged in-between DC and Philidelphia... And there's no way I'm gonna move to PA. Too many Borough taxes. X_x

there are lots of reasons why it is difficult for them to have online co-op. look at the size of the maps, we have heard about free roaming, and the like. just see what the have done with the skys as some proof. so no only do you have that large amound of information just in the maps, there is also the randomness factor, granted it isn't much, but a lot more than your normal fps, that adds another thing into the mix. the reason why this is easier with just system link, is the fact there is no go between, with online co-op, there is lag, even if it is small, but that lag will cause a lot of frustration. and all the work on other things, is not done by bungie themselves, but third parties, granted they do take a small bit of time, which is hardly a revolutionizing hour or so, to talk to these people and get these other mediums situated. granted i would love online co-op, i would like it even more if they presented us with a fun time, then a half crap attempt to provide something that is wholely unintertaining.

but all in all, love the update!!!! every week my inticipation grows as i await the tantalizing tidbits of the next weekly update. and burnt hair is a pretty putrid stench, and it lingers. . . .

I like Frankie's writing style much more than lukems...

I'm sad though, just because all this info they're releasing in magazines and trailers and whatnot mean there is less info coming out of the weekly updates... Which are my favorite mediums for new info...

You fail the psych test. It only records who edits the doc last in our Content Management System. So you're lamenting how much you like Frank, but the words aren't all his. owned.

Well that was Kinda of obvious when He started talking about himself in the third person lol.

I really really wish those warthogs were for sale. I can only dream how awesome it would be to own one. Also it's great to see Mister Chief again!

Yeah I was a little disappointed. I PM'd Frankie this morning asking for a Misterchief like Albus Dumbledore for the last Harry Potter book...didn't happen.

And I wonder if they feel like I do...that something else has just shown up, with its own locked and loaded magazine of manifest destiny, set to bring forth a new kind of reckoning...

think of it as playing grand theft auto online, where one person could be at one end of the map, the other person at the other end, and it has to load everything in between and cram it in our tiny outdated cable interwebs (also with way moar awsomer graphix and funtime goodness).
thats why coop online may become a problem. (but again they also said that they had a rather large knife to wrestle this monstrosity of an alligator)

anyone else find the part about new sword techniques to be intriguing to say the least? i think its gonna be cool...but this kinda adds to an overall worry ive been having about the game. they are making halo 3 FAR more complex than halo 1 and 2, with a massive arsenal, equipment, way more vehicles (and strange ones at that; mobile bases?) and other new complex ideas that will change the way halo plays and feels.

im afraid halo is going to lose its noted simplicity that makes it what it is, and it will lose part of its demographic (the ones who arent fanboys, uber 1337, etc.) but more casual players that made the game so popular across the masses.

Where do you guy's (and gal's) come up with this stuff,,,,errr, words..

..............the smell of burnt hair is the smell of a thousand failures being vomited from the gullet of a tentacled creature hiding in a wet hole. It’s gross............

What imaginations...ha... I read this several times because I couldn't believe what I was reading at first... You never cease to amaze me with your vivid descriptions.

Good update, as always. Thanks, dave

Just remember... I keep it real...

...my god... ...my -Blam!- god... ...can it really be... ...can it honestly be true... ..a life size drivable Warthog?... ...I think I know what I want for Christmas... ...Seriously, that is probably the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.... ...I bet the mileage isn't too good, but who honestly cares about mileage when it is a real Warthog? Bungie, seriously. You have to mass produce those and have one at every dealership across the globe. The Halo movie, if it ever gets a go, is going to destroy everything else.

yah, ha, I guess everything I thought I knew about who was writing what was wrong lolz. In my defense I just dislike all of ridiculous analogies that really make no sense and are just there for the sake of analogies, so whoever that is well there you go.

wow, cool warthog and..... well, that's about all I liked w/ this weekly update (after all it had already been known that a fully functional warthog was in the works); seriously guys can you be more vague. We all knew (at least those who've been paying attention and don't immediately fall for "leaks") that online co-op might or might not appear. The detail on the sword is good to know, but comon, that's barely a tid-bit of information. Perhaps you could let us know more about the carbine/battle rifle balancing issue. The contest/halo fan thing is cool and all but again it barely says anything about what we're all wanting to hear; maybe a bit on graphical updates like you used to do (any more cool water effects, like maybe something w/ firing guns underwater or a neat effect when you try to) or how about a hint as far as graphics w/ the Flood

Next time please, put some content back into the updates relating to the workings of the game; you did it before and often enough that I don't see why you couldn't do it again.
