Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

I'll see if I can steal a camera in my house, cuase I canlt draw on PC's at all.

I am in too....i am a bit busy these days...but i'll try my best to submit something....

You still have thirteen more days. And I figured that two weeks was plenty of time to make one good comic strip, also it makes it moar dramatic, rawr!

* You must follow Bungie’s Code Of Conduct (failure to do so will result in immediate disqualification)

Ironically, this thread violates the Code of Conduct, as the CoC requires you to follow the Bungie.net Terms of Use. The ToU state that, "you agree that when using a Communication Service [defined as bulletin board services, chat areas, news groups, forums, communities, personal web pages, calendars, and/or other message or communication facilities], you will not: Conduct or forward surveys, contests, pyramid schemes or chain letters." (emphasis added)

Sorry to point this out. I'm sure that if the web team sanctions it then you're fine, though.

Well like i said try not to make it too long, I mean use your better judgment, but if you need a limit then lets say average it around 5 cells (blocks). I don't care if you go over five, just don't go too far over. I don't feel like putting a restriction there because it might impeed the creativity, but oh well.

Pretty sure that they were referring to the sketchy kind of contest that takes your money/personal information in exchange for false hopes of actually winning something valuable. That's why it precedes 'pyramid schemes'. Either way, this is not the first successful user-created contest to come out of the Septagon so I would not expect it to yield any negative actions from the powers that be.

Sorry dude, but your contract interpretation skills leave something to be desired. If Bungie chooses not to enforce this provision against friendly Community contests, then I'm all for it and love it. But that doesn't mean that it isn't a violation of the ToU.

I'm just going to ignore the patronization, this isn't about an unwillingness or inability to correctly interpret a ToU contract.

All I'm saying is that contests like these have happened in the past and were met with open arms by Bungie. The video contest last year got posted on the front page in the news section and we had at least one mod directly supporting the thing.

This is simply an attempt to get people pumped for the upcoming comic by inviting everyone to make one of their own in a controlled and mediated fashion. I don't understand why you are bringing it up at all.

Uh, Foman, wouldn't this be regarded as more of a competition, rather than a contest?

A contest is a form of competition, in which a prize is the object being competed over.

At any rate, this is a contest and I merely wanted to point that out. I'm not trying to be a party pooper so I won't mention this anymore... but you still may want to run it by the web team for approval (this post may qualify). Good luck guys.

well, considering that a mod is in the competition...

  • 07.23.2007 5:04 AM PDT

Let's just drop the issue and enjoy the competition. It hasn't been locked yet so I doubt that it will be any time in the future.

5/5 Stars - Kritz.net

I may create one, to follow my trend of horrible comics.

Though, I'll probably end up being lazy and never finish (Or start) it.

Remind me on IRC when you can, maybe.

Gnome, I wouldn't restrict them too much on how many panels they can have and all that.

Just get it in by the deadline, guys, and you should be fine.
