Nope, nothing whatsoever to do with the floodians, who have apparantly just discovered what a meme is.

But...

US only competitions, again?!

You'd have thought the laywers would have had some time to pencil in "You brits can come too." onto the end of the Ts&Cs, or does bungie not love us non-american fans any more? ;_:. come on. who couldnt love a face like mine! More to the point - I'm vexed because I was in Mombasa and wearing a Halo t-shirt, trying to find someone with an xbox in the hotel on the 7th of this month, but couldnt manage it, so instead got stupendously drunk on the free drinks, then talked about halo with some other random dude, and frankly, being in the city a good chunk of Halo 2 is set in on Bungie day is just about as good as its going to get :P.

Anyone else got any good entries they can't enter due to not being a wayward colonist?

There's certainly a misnomer with the question in the Update being "World's Biggest Fan." Not a single city is listed outside of mainland US. They could at least be more accurate with the title.

It's nothing against British people, or Europeans, or Canadians, or Argentinians, or Japanese, or Russians.... It's just that it's hard to comply with all the rules and regulations for international countries at the same time. That's why it's usually just the US.

Yes. That's what we were told last time.

Unfortunately, that doesnt really hold any water when you're doing a contest to find the "World's biggest Halo fan."

Also, why is it harder? Canada isnt even included this time. It should be just as easy, if not easier to legislate for the entire EU as compared to the US, that'd cover just about half of the people currently unable to enter bungie competitions. Hell, why not just run seperate contests on each regional xbox.com/co.uk/.au/etc. site and link to them on bungie.net, surely the xbox's biggest selling title ever is big enough to warrent that level of attention from MS? Doing this just allows the general message of "Hi, we're bungie, we only care about the Americans" to spread around the internet. Hell, there was even an article in Kotaku about how vague and US-centric bungie is being about this thing. And they're right, there just seems to be a decided lack of effort from bungie to include the rest of the "Halo Nation."

("Halo Nation"?!? Whoever came up with that term deserves to be shot. We're the Seventh Column. Always have been, always will be. Halo is not bungie.)

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

I completely agree. And this goes to the guy above.

I am also disappointed, however not on the same level. I am with you though elmicker, and yes, I am an American. To me, like you said, it seems that Bungie is being 'an american whore' advertises to everyone, but only certain people get in. And no, the pun was not intended.

What about Canada? I would think that NAFTA would make bringing in Canadians an easy thing to do.
