However, I disagree that it takes no BR skill. What kind of skill are you referring to? Knowing how to button combo or glitch? Please don't advocate that, I don't want the thread locked. Particularly when we have a pretty decent arguement going. Why is it not skill to be able to place a well aimed shot?
Because well-aimed shots aren't necessary for a kill. I've found that sweeping the reticule is incredibly effective against enemies. You don't actually need a well-placed shot, you just need one of the three rounds from your burst to hit the target during your sweep. As for button glitching, yeah, I think it takes skill (it's absolutely amazing to watch pros play under stress and still be able to manage perfect doubleshots like they're nothing), but that wasn't what I was referring to. By BR skill I meant the consistency to land continuous headshot on your opponent until they drop. To be able to have a better strafe in direct BR combat, to be able use cover and time when you pop out, to be able to deal with movement and the stress of being shot at while still quickly adjusting your reticule over your opponents head. My issue with SWAT is that it's mostly a "who saw who first" ordeal rather than one based on player consistency.

Besides, the weapons missing from the map which lends to the lack of weapon variety are the very weapons that you are complaining as giving an unfair advantage.
I consider No Duals with BR spawns to be pretty balanced. Yes, there's rockets, sword and sniper available, but these can be countered by teamwork fairly easily. It doesn't become like Team Slayer SMG spawn games where if two good and fairly equal teams play each other, the outcome of the game can be determined solely by what team spawned better and closer to weapons in the beginning of the game.

In H3, they seem to have cured that somewhat and have relegated the PP to disabling vehicles (which is hilarious).
I'm pretty happy with the way it is in Halo 3. Not as much homing means it isn't like the current combo which can be used with very little to no aim and in almost any situation.

It all boils down to counter-measures. I've played with plenty of guys who have learned how to counter those "easy-kill" combos. So much so that if you do use them you only make it easier for them. Some guys are really good at using a shotty to end somebody's rampage with the sword. Other guys have good movement and avoidance skills to get around somebody attempting to use a plazma pistol combo.
As far as killing a sword user with a shotgun goes, it's honestly not worth attempting off-host. The shotgun often fails to kill at point blank range, hell, it often fails to register a shot at all off-host. As far as avoiding the plasma pistol, once that thing's been fired, your only option is to hurry behind cover and let the plasma hit that instead. Unfortunately, a lot of people know what they're doing with the combo and wait for players to enter areas where that's not an option.
I don't think I made a point or anything in this post. Just throwing opinions around here.
