I think users should be allowed to post in the Gallery. It's not like it's being used for anything else.
Not directly posting pictures, of course, but linking them, like the rest of the forums.
Obvious rule suggestions:
1) No pr0nz, gore, or various other explicit material.
2) If you post art that isn't yours, say so.
3) All pics must be, in some way, Bungie related.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

I like the idea, but I think it would be best if members couldn't create threads in the gallery. Knowing this forum, it would turn into a spammed up forum, and a bunch of boring topics, hardly any good pictures.

People would be too busy posting their own pictures to comment other ones, and I think it would be moving to fast for the mods to catch all the bad links. More bad than good would come from it, I think.

Yeah, I don't really like the idea. Well, I do, but I can how it could be a really big problem.

I honestly don't see the point in keeping The Gallery around.

It worked really well for the fan art contests, but in theory, those could be posted in this forum.

Maybe if someone were to get more content for it, it'd be worth something... and I know that's where the fans would come in, but I've said why I don't think that would work.

Well, i think what we need is someone to run it, rather than make it open or get rid of it. We lost the admin who ran The Gallery contests, and I would honestly like to see it back up and running again.

Easily stopped by enforcing all of the rules with 7 day bans. Harsh, yes, but probably necessary.

It would be spammed up within 30 seconds of it opening, im sure when the bungie team gets time they will work on the gallery (after halo 3 probably) but for the time being, it is best it stays the way it is.

In my opinion, it is already pretty spammed up. That is a link to the most recently posted-in thread in the forum, by the way.

Currently, any fan art that finds its way onto a computer is posted in these forums anyway -- people will just post their fan art in the forum they feel is most appropriate (or most public). I am not sure if that argues for a separate "fan art" forum or if it's best to keep it in its related subject matter forum. I'm kind of neutral on this one guys.
