Ok, ive seen people on other forums posting stuff about in halo 3 there being an allience with the Covenant against the Flood. Nothing could be less fun. Even though in halo the Flood AI was inproved with more variety there still a boring mindless enemy with no stragegy or unique ships (like a warhog thats flood-inated). Basicaly they are a boring enemy and i played assualt on the control room on halo 100 times by my tally while i played the library 4 times. All the fun comes from fighting various covenant enemies, not that the arbiter levels arn't fun, but thats because the brutes are fun to kill, and the same for the Heretics. So please Bungie, an allience at the end of the game would be exceptable, but to have no covenat enemies outside of the first level above Earth would be devastaing... dont do it to us.

well i guess that would be cool but we would only get to fight jackals and brutes and the flood. if there was a new enemy or somethin it would be cool.

The arbiter and MC have some kind of an alliance already, well it's more Sgt. Johnson than MC. Cause the arbiter still wants revenge on the MC. I think.

i think it would be likely that if the Elites ally with us, the Hunters, and possible Grunts, will too... you ever noticed something about the last level of Halo 1/2, (even though its only on legendary on 1) that Johnson is always involved with an Elite... in the first one it was him hugging an elite... and in 2 hes actually teamed up with on... i think he'll marry an elite...

In the Collectors Edition "Conversations From The Universe" booklet, the Covies mention a new enemie called a Sharquoi. The Sharquoi (incase you are wondering) are not the brutes. Brutes are called Jiralhanae. And Drones are called Yanme'e. So its not either of them, and I don't feel like listing them, but its none of the others either. The way they say it is: " I suspect we are Forcing them into a tighter arena than they care to fight in-soon we may be able to use the Sharqui". This was said concerning the amount of planets the Covies had glassed, so it might not be a infantry unit, but maybe a space vehicle or some other thing. I am going to post this speculation in another thread too, so that way I can get more people to reply to it. But I said it first here :D

Trash talking just makes me beat you harder.

Though i agree elites are pretty badass they are not nearly as badass as of course the Master Chief. Also i still think the covenant should burn!!! but i guess some of the elites and hunters should be semi allys until the threat is over, but yeah i still dont trust'em. i guess wat im trying to say is sure maybe some type of alliance just not a real one, more of a cease fire.

I think the Elites will form a splinter faction and the Covie will have a 2 front war, from both the humans, and the Elites. I don't think they will 'directly' help humanity, but i think there will be more of the switching of roles (ala Arbiter to MC).

And then of course there will be the long awaited Grunt Revolution!!!

No, the Grunt Rebellion has already happened. If you watch the cut scene about the Arbiters, if you listen, they say "The taming of the Hunters, the Grunt Rebellion, the Arbiters..." The something about the Arbiters been the back bone of the covies

I think that some sort of alliance between humans and at least some covies is inevitable. In conversations from around the universe a pair of elites talk about the humans joining the covenant. In halo three i suspect that you will spend more than one mission helping a faction overthrow the prophets in some sort of covenant civil war. So long as the gameplay is good I will be happy but I think it would be pretty interesting fighting alongside marines and covenant.

i think the progression bungie took will be a difficult one. this particular twist is alot harder to continue, because you have to factor in the arbitor's storyline. i hope that they pay as much attention to the mc and earth's side, and not water down either one.

although it seems as if the elites, grunts, and hunters, are going to be our allies, i'm not so sure how the battle's will play out then. as someone stated, who are we going to shoot at, we only have like 3 enemies left then. and the shielded elite was a nice adversary for mc, they were your "equals" in terms of shields, and power. i am interested to see where bungie goes with this, but man i hope they don't water down the human side's story at all. plus, the flood are a really boring enemy, and although it seems that gravemind will be the big bad a$$ in future halos, i hope we find a much more difficult enemy, that would make it seems reasonable to team up with the elites.
