i've heard wild rumors that bungie are planning to put servers in europe.... i need to know if this is true, because i'm sick to death of americans thinking they're the best players in halo even though the truth is that they have a distinct advantage due to the servers being on their own ground and everyone else getting screwed with a split second lag during games.

If it is a wild rumour then i'd like to ask if any of you would agree to making the game fairer by putting servers in europe or better still in the UK where im from.

Halo3Planet, the place for all things Halo 3..

Need help finding skulls, make sure to go here.

Bungie doesn't have any dedicated servers, and I'm pretty sure they wont have them for Halo 3. Specific people in each game host it, and all the other bozes rely on that. So, if you live in your and get into a game with mainly Americans, then it will be laggy. But, it would be the same if you got host, and the Americans didn't. So, Bungie makes it better for the Americans, which I believe are the majority of Halo 2's players. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

This would be an options if the majority of the connecting population at any time was fron Europe but if onle 1000 of the 200000 players are from Europe then it doesn't make any sense to invest the money. Not saying it to be rude, but they need to think about it from the standpoint of what makes sense for the population that is playing. No use wasting money on server that won't be fully utilized. If there is enough of a population to support it, then I am all for it. But to be honest if 7 out of 8 players in a game are connecting to a server over seas, that doesn't make sense.

BTW, I believe he is talking about the MM server that are used to connect the XBOXes together. Host is determined on who has the fasted speed to the Bungie MM servers and the connections are made to that host by speed ratings.

It has nothing to do with servers, because there AREN'T any dedicated servers. It has to do with the strength of your connection to everyone else currently in the game, it's not our fault you live in the UK.

How about an option for No, it's an American based company/Game.

typical comment there i think................whats yours is yours and whats ours is yours too hey !! -blam!- ing noob.

on topic...........yes i DO think there should be a server in europe and a third in asia....it would be fairer and anyone ( well americans ) saying otherwise is just damn right ignorant. It aint run on servers though. Something does determine host ?? Whats up nutbar, you scared incase you don't get your precious Host........oooooo didums couchy Cuhh

oh and going back to the pathetic " its an american based company / game, so there ". Bungie wouldn't be anywhere if it didn't sell global. It couldn't and wouldn't compete if it were any different.

I agree with what Roman Arrow has said here.

When I played online, I rarely experienced lag, if at all.

Note to author: I hope you're not using this as an excuse for being a genuine bad player.

Yes they should have servers in Europe. Whenever I play someone who is not from the U.S. , the connection is always laggy. Lets fix it.

listen pal.......there aint any servers in america for a start.

Americans get host more often than not as more americans play the damn game. Im british and im not saying i have a bad experience when online as i do have decent games but there IS a latency problem. Thats not the fault of americans though, its just unfortunate i happen to live in the UK whilst im playing the game. Its a little annoying when a player from the US sends and receives their DATA qucker than me, but again thats down to the distance i live from host..............i will say this though and i don't care what anyone says as i aint getting into an arguement about it. If the majority of players in the US were to play from europe to see what we are talking about, i guarantee that what ever rank you are in a particular playlist, knock 10 off it. To anyone who didn't understand that, i will make it simple for ya. If your say 35 in team slayer and live in the US, you would only be say 25-27 if you played your games in europe.

the option for using an american - europe - asian - or world wide would be nice to see, that way you can face people in different areas or go for a standard world wide kind of game (may solve some lagg issues some people have)

Why would Europe get dedicated servers when America doesn't even have any?

lol im aussie and yes i complain about american host, but the americans have a point. they make a huge majority of XBL players!!! what you need to do is practice against americans or go into unranked MM games cuz it doesnt matter if you lose, cuz you dont lose lvls. thats what i did and i can stand my own against americans no problem! i dont mind not gettin host but it would be better if i could get it more often... plus, QUIT NAGGING!!! HALO 3 IS COMING OUT SOON SO EVERYONE WILL BE NOOBS AND EVERYONE WILL BE AS GOOD (OR AS BAD) AS EACH OTHER!!! god people...
