I Honestly don't see how a perspn that claims to be a Christian can say Cursing doesn't effect them. I hear it 24/7 and I still can't stand it. Just because there is war, it doesn't mean that they are going to curse. It's just understandable if they do. To have the option of removing it from the game helps gets it into Churches and such. We played it at my church for a LONG time, then we heard a curse word out of nowhere. We figured we heard it wrong and continued to play. then we heard it again. We stopped playing because we didn't want the teens to hear it. Vilonce is a Big part of Life. The Holy Bible is Loaded with it. "Hell" is refering to the Actural Pysical Hell. And "Ass" is refuring to a Jackass (donkey). They are not used as profanity. The VERY WORST thing Bungie could di is include the "F" word in the game. If they are dumb enough to add it to such a fantastic game, then they should at least be kind enough to add a Disable Option for it. I refuse to play Riddick because of that word. And I was really refuring to playing it. (I played the demo).
If curse words don't bother you, and you are a Christian, then I suggest reexamining your faith and dedication to it.
i do happen to agree that there should be a filter for the game. there's no sense in excluding impressionable youth. but your reasoning is, quite frankly, laughable.
what you're basically saying is that being an unstoppable killing machine is ok, so long as there is no profanity. who said this was well thought out again? last i checked, not killing was a commandment whereas not using profanity was, well, not included (except for using your lords name in vain, of course). man, this is the absolute funniest -blam!- i've read in a good long while. the point of the game, and most any other first person shooter, is to kill. so why are you taking offense to a few curse words? what about the blood staining the floors/walls/ceiling? what about setting up with the sniper rifle and waiting for a clear head shot? what about corpse humping? i'm sure there's something against necr0philia in the bible, no? you said violence is a big part of life. does that mean it should be accepted and embraced? so then why are curse words to be treated any differently? curse words have been incorporated into the vernacular of nearly everyone i have ever known.
if these things don't bother you, and you certainly claim to be christian, then perhaps you should reexamine your dedication and faith to it.
i for one won't be losing any sleep over any -blam!- curse words.
