Ok so now a few people have said they play better on the red side (whether its a host, party, or rank advantage who can really say for sure?). But has anyone noticed that they play better when on the blue side? (or for that matter that it just doesn't matter and your win percentage is nearly the same for both teams?)

I havn't actually checked my win percentage but I can't see it being much different from team to team. I don't really keep track of it but if I did I'd assume that red and blue are equal. Although I do agree that Red is more likely to get the partied up players as opposed to single players.

oh and here's another friend of mine:
Blue Team: games = 122 wins = 37 (30%)
Red Team: games = 88 wins = 44 (50%)

I'd Rather Be A Smartass Than A Dumbass

I decided in light of this to do the only thing that can be done.

Pick several random gamertags and have a look at their stats.

1. FR 2tha EEZIE

Red Team 80%
Blue Team 100%

2. GG 2 BAD U LOST

Red Team 68%
Blue Team 63%

3. XD 4SAK3N SAINT

Red Team 44%
Blue Team 42%

Now if we average these up we find that from our sample.

Red Team win 64% of their games
Blue Team win 68.33% of their games

It would seem that Blue team is superior from this sample although it is more likely that it is just random.

Hmm just because you dont have host doesnt mean you cant win. I dont have host half the time and I win. It all has to do with player skill. Yeah host can aim near your head to shoot, but dont you think theyd be aiming at your head so they wouldnt miss. As its been said many times before, this is Bungie's first attempt at Online multiplayer, and I think they did pretty good on it.

Here's five random stats (I only chose active players with a large number of games played):

H2K lil budda
Red Team: games - 187 / wins - 100 (53%)
Blue Team: games - 154 / wins - 66 (43%)

XxIRIAIPIExX
Red Team: games - 375 / wins - 272 (73%)
Blue Team: games - 148 / wins - 78 (53%)

MoB Sucka 805
Red Team: games - 164 / wins - 89 (54%)
Blue Team: games - 55 / wins - 19 (35%)

GOHdynasty
Red Team: games - 217 / wins - 158 (73%)
Blue Team: games - 88 / wins - 45 (51%)

xXZooIanderXx
Red Team: games - 127 / wins - 90 (71%)
Blue Team: games - 46 / wins - 24 (52%)

averages:
Red Team:
Out of their 1073 games played they won 709 (66%)

Blue Team:
Out of their 491 games played they won 232 (47.25%)

Conclusions:
These five people are pretty good. They get on red team more but win 66% of their games while on red team. They only win 47.25% of their games when on blue team. Again these people are pretty good. There is something up with these stats.

Damn everytime I reconvince myself that its random somebody reposts some crazy stats in favor of a red team advantage. My own personal stats are as follows:

Blue Team-3571 games played-54% winning percentage
Red Team-3104 games played-64% winning percentage

I'd Rather Be A Smartass Than A Dumbass

Unlike the other people here it seems.

I do not really need to see 50-50 stats to convince myself that is random.

If I flipped a coin 10 times and got 10 heads it is still a 50-50 chance. I just happened to get heads every time.

The sample that we are taking is so small and so selective that it shows no true meaning whatsoever to be honest.

It's probably just due to the camouflage factor, Red ends up being a lot harder to see than blue on maps like burial mounds, headlong, tombstone, relic etc. because red is naturally an earthly color.

There's more maps it applies to, but you get the point. Whereas the only maps blue could possibly get that advantage is Lockout....maybe. But it happens less due to it's size.

you have a point but I'm just curious as to the stat for the entire Halo 2 population (minus cheaters). Also, I'm wondering why red team just seems better a lot of the time (whether I'm on it or not).

If only it was on the entire database stats section it would be so much easier. XD

14. The higher seeded Team must play as the Red team and the lower as the Blue team.

This is an official MLG Rule.

Aparrently MLG agrees with you sir.

Hmmm, do you suppose this rule is some sort of "home-field" advantage for the higher seed or just a simple method of choosing which team gets what color?
