Hi, im new to bungies forums and i'm here representing a gaming community in another genre of action. A few years ago, a game called Freespace 2 was released. It was at the time the best Space Combat simulator on the market and was pretty popular for awhile, but the company who created it, stop supporting it (boycot interplay & volition inc. & thq!). In general, they (volition & thq) make games, let em run for awhile, then stop supporting them, even if they are popular.

Then came Freelancer, a pretty good game but still lacked much of what a true SCS has.

In Freespace 2, the question has been raised, can a Halo (1/2) Port be made for the Moddified, enhanced, Uber powerful new Freespace 2 Engine enhanced by a community of programmers who activily support the game?

Now there are the books, pictures, and such to maybe do such a thing, but there is still a lack of sources to go around. As a modder and avid player of FPS, SCS, RTS and so forth, Ive seen ports of FS2>Starcraft and vice versa, Star Trek > Homeworld/FS2 and vice versa.

Im asking this community, and the admins who probrably work with the Bungie staff, or the staff members themselves, to help locate and point out, or god willing provide some resources to design our own Longsword fighters, UNSC Capital ships, Covenant Warships, and so forth. any ideas, blogs, or model dumps u guys have thrown to some dark corner of your PC would be apreceated.

If you care to view what the Freespace 2 (Source Code Project) Engine has to offer, and as a mod created by the community fresh full of new story ventures, please view http://www.3dap.com/hlp and view all about the Source Code Project (SCP), The Forums showing off the programing language of the Freespace 2 Engine (which was released in 2002), and the enhancements of a engine, that was once thought dead, brought back to life, and looks more realistic, than Freelancer, and as realistic as Ace Combat 5.
