Subject: What would Do with Cheaters?

1st offense - warning via brick through your window with a note attached.
2nd offense- abducted, bound to a table supine with a couple of large males (or females I dont' care) vomiting constantly on your face.
3rd offense - forced to participate in a 3 legged race through a mine field with other 3rd offense cheaters, and to be publicly televised for my enjoyment.

Give them the ability to cheat faster and better, that way, you'd cry more.

Modding should be a permanent ban.

I would program a utility that scans certain files that shows you are a modder. For cheaters, when a certain combonation of buttons are pushed, a small recording utility kicks in and simply sends it to the cheating team. Then when a confirmed modder/ cheater is found, a letter is sent to the card holder and it says if you do not respond/unmod your Xbox, you will be finned and your xbox's IP will be permantely banned or at least for a while/cancel you account.

well if i was working at bungie or somthing i would send them a message on the first offense to un-mod their xbox/dont use cheats. second time i would give them a week ban from halo. third time i would just ban that account from halo 2. but if i see a modder now i just ask them "why do you need to cheat for a false rank in a video game that you must suck at?"

Check the ill-culinary behaviour

there should be a seperate MM room for peeps using a one month live trial to stop all those who use them to abuse the system.
no-one cares about being banned if they can be playing again tomorrow under a different gamertag, so keeping them all together in a room of their own stops them tarnishing my game experience :)

Ah, Super Smash Melee is another game that has an issue with "cheaters" and I'm completely fine with that. You go to a tournament and pretty much everybody wavedashes and attempts combo to death moves (though those may be banned now), meanwhile Samus players abuse the bomb jumps, missile animation cancels, and superwavedashes. These "glitches" take a fair amount of talent to exploit and it heightens the sense of accomplishment in the game. Personally, the idea that a button combo is considered cheating is hard to believe especially if it doesn't guarantee instant kills. Reducing or eliminating animation times is a valuable strategy for anybody, and, though I doubt I could do it myself, I have no problem with getting beaten by a person who employs such combos.

i don't get why people mod in matchmaking. ok so you get your level up to 50 without even really playing... what's the point? it's just a waste of time. how is that fun?

Give them a warning, if they continue I'd ban them, and after that forgive them. End of story.

I'd eat them. Simple enough, non?

No, really, First time, a 1-week ban, as it might be a friend of the actual person.

Second time, 3 weeks. The friend might be back.

Third time... Ban the gamertag from the servers, thus keeping them from corrupting little children. A person would notice if he was banned for 1 week, and a message from Bungie showed saying the exact time that he was banned, and when the cheating ocurred, which would be exactly when his friend was playing.

If it happens again, maybe his friend snuck in, you never know, but the person should notice.

Now, third time, there's no excuse. The guy's either a cheater, or can't lock his door. Time to go to Halo 3.
