Ok, i updated my video card (radeon 9200 64mb) and it stopped the problem of the game randomly restaring my computer. well i also noticed that the water in my game has alot of blue squares in it. (outline of a square, not a giant nontransparent blue square)...well everything else runs fine except for a few of those minor graphic problems. I also wanted to know how to change the pixel shader to 1.4 or 2.0 because the way i was told how to do it was very very vague

oh and if i look at the sun there are lots of lines forming the letter L's around it and shadows look really bad and on 800x600 the ground has crappy marks all over it

Yeah- it happens. I was having that sporadically pop up on my computer today until I gave the graphics a bit more work to do... it's like the game is just adding the objects without hiding the box frames around it.

I recommend testing what settings make your graphics return to normal, because sometimes too little detail or options make it mess up.

yeah my graphics are up all the way though. sometimes putting it on the lowest resolution helps with unwanted marks on the ground, but ive tried to get some of the other stupid things away, but they stay. i also noticed orange squares around the hunters orange blood.

I know... tossing a frag grenade leaves a trail of blue checkered wireframe boxes. On my old graphics setting.

well, my resolution is usually all the way down, everything else is all the way up. shadows are off. audio is just on high settings, no eax or stuff...but it runs really well on my computer because i have 2.8ghzHT and 512 ram...

well lets see the halo pc version is a power hungry beast so its expensive to get high texture graphics and high frame rate.
as for pixle shader if you mean changing the supportred shader for your card that is a hardware issue (as ATI told me) and that you cannot change that.
as for getting better performance I would think a Nvidia graphics card would work better seeing as how the game was built on a Nvidia grapics accelerated console system.
