Firstly though i know many of the animation glitches i haven't learn them and don't do them apart from the occasional double shot by accident (E.g. Heat BR gun battle i tap the triiger quit first so when i press the reload button it becomes a double shot, Though this usually occurs after the battle) and i do know of a couple superbounces but don't ever use them in match making unless its done first onto me. Nothing ruins a game more than someone who's superjumped on top of turf with the sniper with 24 shot's to fire. But is it cheating in the following paragraph it says no and this isn't some 2 year old weekly update that your never gonna find but on bungies rules about cheating. Please note that this was posted 1/30/2007 or 30/1/2007 if your in the UK.

Q
What is considered cheating or against the rules in Halo 2?

A
In a nutshell, Bungie considers cheating to be the act of manipulating or interfering with aspects of the game or networking to give yourself or your team an unfair advantage. The exact methods and cases will vary as people invent new ways to do bad things. Our team is constantly monitoring the latest exploits and issues and will be reacting as necessary. Common examples of things that will get someone banned from Live play include "standby cheats" (i.e. interfering with the network connection to disrupt gameplay), using hacked maps or game files or manipulating matchmaking to "boost" your way up the leaderboards.

There are also other issues beyond actual cheating that could result in punishment by either the Live Team or Bungie. Profanity, threats, racism and inappropriate player/clan names are all examples of Conduct violations that will result in some sort of punishment from the Xbox Live Team.

Q
What is NOT considered a bannable offense by Bungie?

A
Quitting a game is not a bannable offense. Having a team-killer on your team sucks, but that's not a bannable offense either. Many people are also aware of the "super jumping" phenomenon that allows players on some maps to jump to extreme heights. We are monitoring this situation for long term impacts to game balance but we are not banning people who do this simply because it's too widespread and is something that's basically built into the map. Anyone can do this if they want to though it is difficult to pull off in many cases. We will continue to monitor the impacts this bug has on our game.

And for those of you that might claim that its against Microsofts Xbox lives rules and reglation, the games creator's don't class this as cheating so how can xbox live, and just too get the point in further bungie is now a microsoft owned company so in away microsoft are allowing superjumps and animation glitches.

Please don't flame this post, If you have a more recent post on cheating by all means post it here. But all valid points are welcome its just how i Interpret the post.

wow, BRAVO! thank you very much. There was a question awhile ago asking if superbouncing would get you banned and i told everyone no, that i have seen this before. And a Ninja quoted me and wrote that it was a bannable offense and basically just made me look like an idiot. After that he locked it so i couldn't defend myself. Now that you found what i was looking for i hope that ninja sees this.

I'd Rather Be A Smartass Than A Dumbass

So much misinformation... gah!

1. They're animation bugs. Fixing them could impact many many other systems, and it was deemed too risky to patch (initial efforts found a few immediate regressions).
2. They weren't put in there on purpose, don't be foolish.
3. They're cheating on Xbox Live. We don't ban for them because glitches of that nature can be reported by the feedback system. I don't care what MLG does, we don't sanction their gametypes, even though some of them think they should get to sanction ours.
4. Not everyone can use a button glitch - some localized versions of the game can't perform the glitch due to their display technology.
5. People suggesting otherwise are in danger of getting banned - advocating cheating is against the rules of this forum.

Basically what I am putting to you sir.

Is that they don't ban you for them as they cannot easily detect and follow up on something so widespread but they are leaving reporting these cheats to the feedback system.

It is cheating and if you get reported enough for it you will get banned.

But you will not be banned by Bungi'es autobanning systems.

i predict something happening to this thread....

being closed..... maybe...

They've said this many times, it's not BANNIBLE, but superbouncing does provide a player with an extreme advantage over the other players, that cannot be simply reduced. If no sniper rifle is on the map to be picked up, it's impossible to remove the threat, well ALMOST...

As for the button glitches, everygammer has the ability to do them ANYWHERE on the map and it doesn't provide with an extreme advantage that cannot be overcome.

Don't give me BS about, I just can't do it. Practice a little more.... I might double shot 1 or 2 times in a day and I'm pulling bettween lvl 25-30s fine. If you can't do it because your fingers don't work, watch this video and then talk about not being able to because you're handicapped. I have made props for BawNey and how badass he really plays.

BawNey, still plays 10x better then I do
