I know this question may be against the rules, but I REALLY need an answer.

You see, it all started when I joined a friends Custom Game, and I was shocked to discover that it was a modded game (this was the first modded game that I have ever been in)

I deleted the guy that had the mods off of my Friends List, and I will never play with him again. My question is, am I in any danger of being banned? They were not my mods.

No.

How sure are you? This account means a lot to me, and I don't want anything happening to it.

Why did you delete him? Doing mods through custom games does no harm whatsoever, especially when it is for fun like those race tracks on Containment's mountains. However, I am against any person that has to use mods in a real game, even if it is "arranged" as through a custom game. For fun, yes, but for just cheap purposes, no.

However, mods are totally safe through custom games. It is only through matchmaking that it is bad.

I got really scared. I PMed Achronos with my question, but I'm guessing he over-looked it, or something. I heard that he has been doing that for two weeks. How hasn't the modder been banned yet?

It was absolutely, 100% for fun. I deleted him, because I thought I was in danger of being banned for playing with him.

But I thought that people who signed into Xbox Live with modified content, regardless if they are in Customs, or Matchmaking, they got banned.

Unfortunately, that's not true. Playing in a modded game once or twice will not get you banned from matchmaking; however, should you continue playing in modded games, you will eventually be banned from matchmaking.

But do you think that I'm safe?

Completely. Just don't join any more of his games, and you'll be fine.

You are safe. The modded content was not on your xbox/360.

Your account gets banned i think within 3 hrs now if memory serves me correctly. I think you can get banned for using the mods in MM and playing with a guy who had modified content in MM but if it was in Custom game I don't think you can get banned. Just remember that it is against XBL's ToU to have modified your xbox, there is where you run into a problem. Not from Bungie.
