Introducing the shields would have a positive effect on the multiplayer; there would be no more sniping free-for-alls, it'd make sniping an actual challenge. I can imagine a vanguard of shield- and sword- wielding Spartans covering the flag carrier... having him crouch while they take care of defense.

You do realize if the shield/sword combo got into the game, a whole underworld of duelers, clans, tournaments, and ladders would surface. And a whole debate of honor and true skill would ignite between those who feel guns are below them and dishonorable to use and those who play normally. Before you know it, the Montagues would be biting their thumbs at the Capulets and everyone will die and/or be sad. Yeah it would be fun, but it seems like it would take away more from the game than it puts in. Besides, you already have a shield; so are you going to shield your shield? Seems a little ridiculous. Just my two cents.

1. Every little bit helps
2. It's better then your shield at certian weapons...

Sniper Rifle
Battle Rifle (no dought)
ect.

I still want more stuff to make the sniper rifle difficult to use... In halo, I felt like a new comer when it came to sniping, compaired to other games it was a joke to me when it came to sniping... I want them to make it more difficult by making it that moving to fast makes it less accuract, same with jumping (making ducking more useful btw)
