All I ever hear when I am in matchmaking is "ZoMg!! Y0u g07 n0 sc0p3d!@!!!" I think it really doesn't take any skill since the target is in the middle of the screen, unlike most games where you have to zoom in to see it.

It isn't hard if the person is coming straight at you or within melee range (The point of scoping is to make them take up more of your screen so the shot is easier). But outside of that it is a bit tougher to hit a straffing target that is attacking you.

Depends if ur talkin in the head or otherwise but in the body (easy) but to some extent no-scoping takes more luk than skill because getting the crosshair in the vacinity of the enemy takes some skill but firing then hitting is luk. I try not to no-scope it gets me into trouble so i scope in even at 5 metres (16 ft) away, u just gotta shoot when sumthing is on ya screen so really u cant miss but as soon as i get a hit i go in for the beatdown.

Yeah it takes skill. What pisses me off is when noobs get so excited that they no scoped somebody that they make it a point to let everybody know

It takes good reflexes, Autoaim keeps you locked on for like half a second even when you zoom past him, so if you can shoot someone within the half second, you at least hit him and maybe kill him.

As for Halo 3, I only managed to get few actual good no-scope, the kind when people are not running straight at you. Because you actually have to steady your aim and keep the reticle on him.

Totally depends on the situation, if you're attacked from behind and pull off a headshot no scope, it's prbably more luck than skill. If your turn speed is higher it takes more skill to no scope because you are likely to overturn. A good situation to measure no scoping skill is when you are in a corridor facing an opponent and you are both trying to no scope each other, so you are both jumping around to avoid getting shot and all the time adjusting your aim to kill the enemy. 1 shot, awesome, 2 damn good, 3 good, 4 ok, reload, you deserve to be killed so don't be surprised if you are.

I know it takes some skill, but is it really an opportunity to brag about it during the whole game?

No-scoping does take skill, but it's a little ridiculous. I'd like it if in Halo 3, there was no aiming reticle for the Sniper Rifle and Beam Rifle when the player is out-of-scope. That way it's still do-able, but it's harder to do, so that we don't have as many -blam!-s using a long range rifle as a shotgun.

yes and no, somtimes you are just flailing and tryign to get lucky, somtimes u are calm and collected and trying to make the shot, depends on the situation

It's mostly luck if you do get a long-range no scope off. Medium range can be aimed a little bit, and close range is pretty easy.

Yea lol, it's the same with certain killing spree's(rampage, etc..) and multi-kills(double kill, triple kill, etc...). It's nice to be excited about it, but we don't wanna hear you scream it out. : )

I say its luck 75% of the time , but honestly it doesnt take : skill : it just takes patients to wait for the shot instead of firing rapidly

It isn't hard to point a weapon at someone and fire it. We do it with all the other weapons, so why is this different with the Sniper. It has a scope, use it. If you don't want to, that is your lost.

Killing sprees and triples arent too hard. Killtaculars arent very hard it just depends on where the person is and the ammo in your clip.

It's harder to no-scope since there is NO AUTO AIM. That's why people freak out about it.
It takes half skill half luck.

you can tell if it takes skill if you mkae a bunch of players fight in a single room and put on snipers only. but i dont think it takes skill. if you can no scope thats great, but it doesn't really take skill.

It obviously takes some measure of skill considering I can't do it worth a -blam!-.
