1-2
Immediately after saying this he followed up by saying, “Start crawling.” Chris began to crawl with his rifle in his hands. The Sarge began to speak but no on could hear his voice. Sand flew up into the air Chris shut his eyes to avoid getting it in his eyes. The corporal on the turret began to fire over everyone’s heads. “Those are live rounds being fired at you!” Sarge yelled over the gunfire. Chris crawled and nearly made it to the end.
“If you lift your head up you will get –blamed!- up!” Sarge continued in indistinct “Keep moving common!” The person in front of Chris stopped and muttered out loud “I can’t do this..” “Keep moving your holding everyone up!” Chris exclaimed. “I CAN’T –blam!- do this!” he shouted. Crying in a hail of tears he raised his head through the barbed wire. “Noo!!!” Chris shouted but it was too late the man already had a bullet in his head. His body dangled on the barbed wire.
“Cease fire!!” Sarge yelled. He ran over to the body “Corpsman!” he called. When he finally got there he looked at the body. Dead. “-blam!-“ he cursed. He went quiet for a moment then seconds later he exploded, “I told you to keep your –blam!- head down if you listened to me you’d still be –blam!- alive right now. Stupid –blam!-” The whole training area went deathly silent as the corpsman hauled the body off the grounds. With the fear now out of the rookies they headed inside.
Sarge gave them their weapons. Chris was paired up with his best friend. Sargeant Edwards went to the end of the table “Shooter, Sniper, Shooter, Sniper…” he continued until he got to the end of the table.
Chris was the sniper and Jake was the shooter “Now…” Sarge began “Repeat after me, this is my rifle.” “This is my rifle” everyone repeated “There are many like it but this one is mine” they repeated again. “Without my rifle I am nothing” they repeated again “Without me my rifle is nothing” they repeated one last time. “-blam!- right” Sarge said to himself. Everyone walked outside when there was booming echo Chris spotted them in the flesh, The Covenant were here Chris leaned over to Jake and whispered “No tanks…”
A purple beam wised past Chris’ head, in an instant Chris pinpointed his attacker and fired his rifle, the bullet nailed the Elite in the head causing it to flip backwards. The whole squad was about 2 miles from the base with no hope of reinforcements they would have to fight with what they had, and prayed to God that they did not run out of ammo. Chris primed a grenade and threw it at the Elites feet the blast took out its shields and then in the right timing Chris spotted an M6C on the ground he dove for it and then took out his own M6C and set his sights on the vulnerable Elites
Without hesitation he pulled the trigger.
