*Spoilers*
Hey the end rocked. I don’t know why anyone ever said it sucked.
I mean Halo 2 is more then a game, we can see that now. Most games have an ending, the story ends and we don’t care what happens next. The halo series is more like a book or movie series.
Halo 2 had an amazing story, maybe you didn’t get it?
We all know the game was really about the Covies this time around. They stumble onto Earth while looking for something.. (The object at Chawla base) They land in New/Old Mombassa.. They find.. something else...(or the object was moved there....?...) Next they blast off to another Halo with In Amber Clad hitching a ride. Master Chief lands runs after the Prophet of Regret (who the other HigherArc's are pissed at and want to kill...)
Meanwhile a disgraced Elite is made an Arbiter (kind of like a Jedi) and sent on a suicide mission to silence a group of Elites who know the truth about the " Great Journey" He survives the mission (not learning the truth) and is sent on a mission to retrieve the Index. The Brutes are quickly gaining power in the Covie ranks and take the Elite's long held top position.
As the Arbiter is retrieving the index from Keyes and Srg. Johnson the Brutes betray him and push him into the "grave" And right after start their violent grab for total domination and hunt the Elites. A Civil War breaks out between the Elites and Brutes.
The Master Chief and Arbiter meet the Gravemind who understands all about Halo and what it does, He sends them both to try and retrieve the index back, and stop it from turning.
The MC is sent to High Charity and chases the Prophets. Next the Flood outbreak and start to spread through High Charity after already over taking and crashing In Amber Clad. The Brutes and Prophets Split up. The Prophets are heading for the Ark (a Forerunner Ship) which they want to take to Earth (with as many ships as they can muster) Cortona splits up with John, saying that she can help find the index or destroy halo if its about to be activated, and Master Chief Chases the Prophets onto the ship.
Meanwhile, The Arbiter and his Elite buddies are fighting the Brutes, and are trying to find the index; he makes his way (with the help of the Sarge) to the control room and stops Tartarus from activating Halo. Keyes, Arbiter and Johnson find a beacon, which Guilty Spark Explains is communicating to the other Halo rings, the remaining rings are in stand-by mode, ready to be activated by the Ark.
The game ends with Master Chief aboard the Ark, which is at Earth. Lord Hood asks WTF MC is doing on the ark to which he replies, " Finishing this fight"
Super Sweet Story, Super Sweet Ending!
Halo 2 was worth the wait, and the cliffhanger ending tells us that Halo 3 will be worth the wait as well!!
