Why the need to have rankings? What do they say? I think they are pointless because you cannot play with everyone and that pisses me off. Who ever reads this, please comment.

personally I like the rankings. It is bragging rights, and makes players feel more intense and serious about the actual game. Yeah people might get more pissed off every now and then, but isn't that what makes it fun?

there is no glory in battles of little challenge.

Plus correct me if I am wrong, with the rankings matches are composed of people/teams with similar rankings, not all the time, but it seems most of the time for me anyways.

rankings give players are goal to work towards, usually unobtainable. it is crucial that it isn't possible, or extremely difficult, to max out your level; otherwise, like in warcraft, you'll have oodles of only fairly-good players maxing out the level system (in warcraft's case, Level 50) and in doing so cheapen and make such an achievement a helluva lot less glamorous and meaningful.

Rankings stop people like me, who don't have much time to play, from getting destroyed by the more experienced players who live on x-box live every time they play.

so the XBC jerks who call themselves "elite"s and/or "god"s can prove it, or complain how much Matchmaking sucks if they can't...
