hey hey bet our gettin sick of me lol....i back to ask about my compaq server.

It keeps restarting on its own and gives an error messages saying: C:\WONDOWS\win32 has closed unexpectadly. You system shall now restart.

Can anyone think of why this happens?

Operating system: Windows 2000 server family edition

Up 2 date with updates.

thanks

phil

That could be anything.

What is happening when the error happens?

Well, there's your problem!

Lol, Jk.

I'm not all that familiar with the Wondows 2000 OS, but I think that's where all the files the OS uses to run are located. Perhaps there's a corrupted file or virus/trojan/spyware messes things up. Do a virus/spyware scan, and if that comes up clean, then try re-installing the server program, or Windows itself.

what heppens when the error happens: a pop-up comes up with the error with a count down counting down untill when the machine is gona restart telling me the problem which i have said above and to save any work i got and that the machine is restarting.

When did it start happening?: 1 week after i got it. Its a second hand server and it diddnt have this problem in the week after i got it but now its started monday.

Try to remember anything you did on or with the server prior to the error, esp. the following:

Changed the registry
Installed a program
Changed setting on the server or a program.
Surfed the net, esp -blam!- or warez sitres
Had a power surge or outage.

You say you bought it second hand? Then just blow it all away and start fresh. By that, I mean re-format the whole HD and reinstall Windows whatever you want. That'll probably fix the problem, as well as a lot of others that are just waiting to happen.
