Does the Xbox version of Halo 2 contain achievements that aren't in the Vista version? Such as killing the flag carrier, killing someone with the flag, etc.? I didn't see those listed in Vista. Right now I'm trying to get the "Decorated Soldier" achievement (which you can only do in non-team games anyway), but what is the best way to do this? Without boosting.

The xbox version doesn't have any achievements. What you are thinking of are medals, which are in both versions.

The closest I have come was 7 a few times. It was on maps with vehicles so I could get the carjack and splatter medals.

I think I've gotten as many as six in a non-team game. Although I'm not sure whether or not medals like double kill and triple kill count separately. So far it seems like Zanzibar is the best way to go because it has a combo of close quarter combat with a little vehicular play to add to the mix.

Frog Blast the Vent Core!

You have to get every category of a medal in a non-team game for decorated soldier. A combo kill, a killing spree, sniper, beat down, assassination, stick it, car jacking, and road kill.

Whoa! Those are exactly the ones I just marked down as probably being the most realistic! lol. thanks! I think Zanzibar is the easiest map to do this. Any other opinions? Would anyone be able to help? This is really the only MP metal I have left. Thank you!

I don't think they do... I had a game with a killtacular, a rampage, beat down and assassination, 8 medals by my count, and I didn't get the achivement.

Burial mounds isn't too bad either. You can usually jack the ghost and get a splatter pretty easily. Good luck.

Thanks! Yea I noticed that too. So there actually is a "rampage" medal in the Vista version but not an Achievement? And I think you're right about the medal variants. In the post game stats it will only display the kiltacular. It's too bad the Air Traffic Control achievement isn't a medal.

I know what you mean. I've come about as close as I think I can w/o gettting this achievement; only needed a killing spree and ended the game by winning with 4 kills in a row.

At least this achievement seems obtainable w/o boosting; unlike the Rainman and Violent Cartographer achievements. The dedi servers setup by Hired Gun don't even have enough varients to cover the requirements, to say nothing about the lack of players per sever.

exactly. As much as I don't like this, I went ahead, signed on to Live, and just left it running while I did other things. I did this for awhile and still didn't get either Violent Cartographer or Rainman. I hope I don't have to resort to boosting to obtain Decorated Soldier. Burial Mounds looks like a tough place to get a killing spree. I was able to obtain a running riot from Zanzibar. I even got 105 kills (non-slayer game) on Midship, but there were no vehicles.

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

I got mine on Zanzibar, I believe. I think it was in a game with Igg too.

Here are the medals I need to get in a non-team game of slayer in Zanzibar to get the DECORATED SOLDIER achievement:

1) Sniper Kill
2) Assassin
3) Bone Cracker
4) Double Kill
5) Killing Spree
6) Car Jacker
7) Roadkill
8) Stick

Your help would be MUCH appretiated! THANKS!!!

Thanks for the help! And congrats on the 1000! :-) How did you get the Silent but Deadly achievement? That's the only campaign one I have left. Bungie always gives me checkpoints in the weirdest places. I tried bashing enemies on the head in The Arbiter level, and killed eight without being seen (as far as I know), so shouldn't I have the achievement?

Glad to help.

To get the Silent but Deadly achievement, start the High Charity level on easy. Run past all of the flood and brutes until you get to a room that has a ramp. Before going up the ramp, grab a beam rifle from the weapons pod. The ramp goes up to the control room in the big room where the energy walks are that take you around the room. You will see several of the buggars (the flying things) attacking the flood on another platform. Stay back in the shadows and carefully snipe the buggars. Be patient, there will be three waves of buggars which will give you enough of them to get the achievement. However, if you miss one shot you'll blow it and have to start over. On easy mode though, the buggars don't move a lot so they are an easy shot.

Another way is to do Metropolis on Easy and use the Scorpion to kill the ghosts that are still in boost mode further down the bridge. I got this achievement on pure accident whilst going for the Scarab Gun. I was like... what did I do?
