Subject: Issue with using Headset with 360 Controller when connected to my PC

I've been using my wired 360 controller to play halo 2 for the pc. So today i thought, how about i hookup my headset to the 360 controller? Once i plugged the headset into the controller, drivers were installed specifically for the headset and it worked, but the only thing is that ALL sound comes through the headset when it's plugged in. That means if I'm listening to music, the music comes through the headset. This also means any in-game sounds come through the headset, not just the sound of other people in the game. Any way to change this so that just people's voices come through the headset?

Ok.

Plug in the head set.

Right click the speaker in the bottom right of your computer's screen.

Hit playback devices.

Make your computer the default playback device. Not the headset.

Now start Halo 2

Open live guide.
Settings
Voice.
Make the Headset mic and speaker default for playback and recording.
