I have not played halo in a while, so I put my disc in, I get a 360 dashboard update for the game. After the game loads up normally, I try to log into live, I get "There is a new update" screen, I choose get update instead of "continue offline" and so, I get taken to the xbox 1 dashboard. Nothing downloads, The game reloads.... again... what the hell?

Carrots.

It's not bungies fault, first of all, it's either YOUR disk, Xbox Live or your xbox. Also, you will get banned from the forums for insulting bungie.

At this point, I don't care. Its not the disc, this is the third disc i've tried, my friend came over and put his in, this is the 2nd xbox 360 I'm using. It also did this on the first one, but it was the day gears of war came out, So i went out and bought it. ALL I WANT IS AN EXPLANATION OF HOW TO FIX IT.

RIP Halo 2.

Clearly a minor technical fault with Xbox Live warrants an all-caps rant at Bungie.

RIP Halo 2.

Try downloading the update and burning it to a disc and installing it. Here's the guide: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardscompatibility.htm#di sc.

Halo3Planet, the place for all things Halo 3..

Need help finding skulls, make sure to go here.

If it's what I think it is, the same problem happened to me. What you need to do is put the game in and let it load up. When the update screen comes up, say continue offline and then go to the dashboard. After that, sign into your gamertag from the dashboard. Select "Play Halo 2" at the bottom of the screen after you are signed in. Then, when prompted, download the update and it should work from there. If it doesn't, you should probably call 1-800-4MY-XBOX

Go to the dashboard and go to Family settings in SYSTEM.

Put everything to yes.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

Hmm. Why would you think that making an insulting subject line would be acceptable? And, you did it so that you could ask for help? Why did you simply assume that Bungie was intentionally messing with you? That's the only reaction you could have had if you then decided to come here and insult them. Please try to be civil when you're asking for help. Why should anyone be civil to you when you were not civil in the first place?

You're lucky that someone did actually help you with this before I saw it. I'm happy that we have good and nice users who are willing to help anyone. That's a plus for the community. This thread in general is not. I hope you take their advice and get this fixed. I know it can be frustrating when something does not work, so I hope that alleviates your anger when its finally fixed.

Locked for unnecessary and inflammatory subject line.
