I personnaly hate the overshield, due to the fact that it is unfair, and it is very noob-ish, ask anyone! when u play on Xbconnect and Aquaduct 2.0 ( Finnaly ) that is what everyone goes for. The overshied is -blam!- .
I hope i got that right....

in a couple of artticles i read reporters said that there was no invisibility and not overshield. They speculated that Bungie took them out due to the increased camo and hiding spots in the level...maybe wishes really do come true :p

In a way if it was real life I dont think the covenant would take away something that makes them stronger just because you asked to. But you're right it is a bit on the strong side.

not really newbish, just cheap. I've been in the middle of heated battle and some jackass will run over the overshild and then im screwed (if hes a pro). Other than picking it up in the middle of battle, you can beat it, just dont be an idiot.

Hehe... you sound just like those guys who can't stand being beaten badly in a game because someone is using an advantage and needs to make up and excuse to say "You're such a noob! That's so stupid!" Advantages are there to be taken. It's not supposed to be a clean and equal playing field. If someone get's the higher ground, or the Scorpion, or just happens to be camping right where you keep spawning, learn to do better. If they can survive a direct rocket because they're using an overshield, learn to squeeze off headshots with the rocket launcher. Or practice with the sniper rifle until you're a genius with it.

I've had to deal with this. I'm no great player, and I've had my own share of bad luck when it comes to playing and spawn points, but I never feel the need to blame it on others taking advantages. So just learn that life isn't fair.

There's nothing stopping you from taking it yourself, and besides, an overshield doesn't guarantee victory. I enjoy it as a interesting addition to the multiplayer game. But it would be good to have to option to turn it on or off.

Oh yea, and in vote it is also unusual that you try to sway the voter towards your opinion byt puting (ima newb) in parenthesis. Just a thought, let ppl be entitled to their opinion.

First off, if you can't stop someone with an overshield then you're more noobish. (so don't be biased in your polls) All you have to do is PPC (plasma pistol charge) and they will lose all of their shield. Then they feel stupid.

And instead of taking it out completely, you should have the option of enabling/disabling powerups.

yeah, i personally hate the overshields, but i hope they do have the option to turn it on or off.... i would most usually mplay with it off, but it would be nice to be able to turn it on if you want...

Plus, you all say you are more noobish for not being able to beat someone with an overshield, real decent players (or just decent players) would never be able to get hit with an overcharged shot... (not me anyway, and i'm NOT the best player there is, am I?) so if a pro lets his shield get blown off with an overshield.... what is wrong with that pro....

One more thing, dont any of you prefer to win by skill, instead of having to take an advantage

(I only want 1 reply, or maybe no reply, because with the post i have created, a fight could easily break out, like in the past it has, and i dont want that)

Me: "OMFG, Dude... wtf!"
AbolitionofMan: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you."
Me: "That's the 4th time in this game alone!"
Chris: "Third, besides he had the flag I was trying to stop him, how was I supposed to know you were there."
Me: "I said, 'I got the Flag, don't shoot.'"
Chris: "Well those Wraith shots take a while to reach you."
Me: "You were right next to me, I had killed him and a minute passed before you decided to shoot."
Chris: "Hahahahaha, yeah... that was great."

Here's your one post then. While I LOVE people who use skill and truely play the game... it does require skill when using it. Tell me if you were assaulting a base where you KNOW there are multiple enemies and that they are constantly respawning there that you would not take it. If not, then you are a noob. In real combat you use EVERYTHING to your advantage to win. And besides... it's not hard to take someone down with an overshield, yes, you do get killed half the time... the other half you win. Also, since this is about only the Overshield what about the Camo? I would think that is more of a cheap thing since you can litterally walk up to someone and jack them in the back.... with an over shield... you can be seen. Whenever I play, we watch the OS, as soon as we see someone get it, we take potshots at him/her thus draining it or killing them before they get it. Simple as that. Just cause you have an OS doesn't guarentee you will win. It's called a Frag.... depletes the OS...and then use pistol them/ use a shotty or AR them down to no slield and jack them.... learn to cope and deal, adapt to your enemy... when you don't is when you get owned.

It's quite simple really; the overshield, as aforementioned, is hardly "noobish." It's merely another aspect of the game. Personally, me and my friends avoid the overshield and active camoflauge, but that's only because of personal preference. If a player manages to snag an overshield or camo, hey more power to them.

I think the most obvious solution to this problem would be to make the power-ups optional; as other people have already suggested.

Like most poeple have said you get as much of an advantage as possible in battle and also in a game. I find its just one more of those things if you know where it is you have an advantage making it unfair on new players, but I guess the same goes for weapons.

In reference to the quote, they might not have added it yet to multiplayer? They might of had it turned off on mulitplayer? They also might only use it on SP? or the obvious one they got rid of it altogether. My last point is its only a game, Bungie's first priority is making a good game, granted storyline counts but people keep on thinking the plot has gotta tie in 100% even form the books. (e.g not being able to re-equip a whole army with the BR and get rid of teh MA5B)
