can you cry more please?

So, you came here, read that huge paragraph, and then complained that he was whining. If you didn't want to read it then just leave. He's stating a serious concern, that could ruin online gaming for some people. I know I'm sick of cheaters. What's the point of raising your level!? There's not even achievements!

It was uncalled for.

Where'd he say it was okay? i think he just said stop complaining. Its gonna happen, but you know what, its just a game. You'll get cheated in real life, and people will care less than Bungie does for you now. He was absolutely right, and you -blam!-ed him out, for essentially no reason. He never said he cheated, never said he supported cheating, but you know what, he had the common sense to realize that coming to a forum and crying about it won't do much of anything. Send an email to the proper address, and be done with it, or leave feedback. COMPLAINING ACCOMPLISHES NOTHING. IT NEVER WILL. GET USED TO IT. You think Bungie didn't already know of bridging, or all forms of cheating. they are trying to fix it. no matter what they do to close one hole, it will open another, and the cheaters will find another way.

He never once said cheating was alright, or that he did it, and yet you lash out and basically called him pathetic and a cheater. Get a reality check buddy.

By saying "cheating is just a choice so stop complaining" implies that it's no big deal, or that there is nothing wrong with it. That's like saying "Hey, if someone wants to burn your house down, it's their choice. Stop complaining!" Basically, taking an indifferent or apathetic view is tacit complicity.

I didn't say he was a cheater. I said if he does cheat in life, then he's pathetic. Learn to comprehend what you read better buddy.

I agree totally with Relic. i believe all cheaters should be banned. but i also kinda agree with the others. -blam!- happens. just cause a cheater gets you on one game doesnt mean you should complain in a WAY too large 3 paragraphs explaining every single thing that annoys you. Just quit the game and report them. its that simple.

No it doesn't at all. It doesn't imply that its alright. You seem to not get what we are saying. We aren't saying "do nothing", we are saying "stop complaining". Complaining does nothing, using the proper processes to report cheaters does a much better job. Sop if someone's gonna burn your house down, you sit there and complain? Instead of doing something proactive like calling the authorities, or trying to STOP HIM. Way to completely fail at seeing what we were implying.

Please explain to me how complaining has a more positive effect than these other options.

If you think complaining to people every time something bad happens to you will ever solve anything, you're in for a pretty tough road ahead, BECAUSE NO ONE WILL CARE.

The original poster, like many of the rest of us, has been experiencing unsportsmanlike behavior for a long, LONG time. I'm sure he has been using the feedback system for years, but, again, like many of the rest of us, his frustration has built to the boiling point. Hence, a somewhat long, but passionate post to vent. I'm sure he isn't posting every time he experiences cheaters.

And you're wrong. People DO care. I care. And I know Bungie cares too. If they didn't, they wouldn't be making the best games the world has ever seen! :)

Well, if you can't see the clear implication that taking an apathetic attitude towards cheating is an endorsement of it, then there's nothing more I can say to help you out. And you are building a strawman argument here. I never said complaining has more positive effects than other options, but it's a damn fine place to start. It's usually the first option one has through the feedback system. Bungie then takes a look at all the *COMPLAINTS* it receives about a player and (hopefully) takes appropriate action.

I get that, the thing you don't get, is that neither KripToKnight or I, have taken an apathetic attitude toward it. All we've said is comapling is not going to help. there's other better options. We're supporting DOING more effective things to stop cheaters. That's apathetic? Uh NO.

Where am I supporting an apathetic attitude? PLEASE TELL ME? NO ONE HAS, IT HAS NO RELEVANCE. The only thing we've ever said, is that complaining won't do anything.

Please, explain to me, how that means we are saying don't worry about it? Please. YOU CAN'T. I've continued asking you to, and you've yet to answer.

"Bungie then takes a look at all the *COMPLAINTS* it receives about a player and (hopefully) takes appropriate action." Guess what that is.............................................THE FEEDBACK SYSTEM. USE THAT. Don't come to a forum and complain to forum goers who can't do anything about it. Bungie does not ban players through these goddamn forums. Complaining does nothing. Bungie already knows about this. They care, and they have been trying to fix it. Complaining at them to fix it, isn't going to make them care more. they are already doing their best. they've given YOU the tools, and instead of using them, you complain more, instead of sending an email to the cheating email address.

If the OP sends an email to h2cheats@microsoft.com or whatever the email is, HE GETS MORE RESULTS THAN COMPLAINING.

Complaining on this forum does nothing. it never will. Bungie gave you, and him the tools. Complaining about how much cheating there is does nothing. Proactively attempting to get the cheaters banned, DOES.

"Don't come to a forum and complain to forum goers who can't do anything about it." Key sentence right here, this has basically been what KripToKnight and I have said this whole time, that doing this HERE, does nothing.

Yeah, we all care. But did this post make us care? Or care more? No. We already know everyone gets cheated. Saying, oh I got cheated again, really doesn't do much. he should take the GT of those who cheated, and send them to the h2cheats email. Taht would be more satisfying for me than a rant, and a lot less time consuming.

Except that this, and the other Bnet forums, are a venue for a Halo community to talk about all things Halo -- good or bad. Kinda boring or shallow if all the posts are like, "How do I get past this level," or, "Please join my clan."

The feedback system doesn't tell Bungie all it needs to know. There's an incredible amount of additional information Bungie gleans from its gamers from comments found on these forums. All you can do on the Feedback system is select "Cheating". I know I personally have tried sending e-mails to H2cheats only to have the message bounced back to me with the Admin error: "No address found" or something like that. I called M$ and XBL and they were clueless as to why.

As nasty and unpleasant these Forums can be, sometimes they can offer a listening ear, and at least offer a means for someone to talk to others. Almost sounds like what you propose is a limit on free speech. This is a precious commodity, and has value.

Sorry dude, but you don't seem to be getting it. I simply took issue with the statement, "People cheat, it's their choice, stop complaining." It strikes me as an apathetic view. You seem to disagree. Now you're blowing what I said way out of proportion so that you really aren't arguing against what I actually said. So, I'm going to leave you to it. Have fun!

One of my Halo 3 montages.

yo FKxPandemic, get out of these forums if you don't want to hear people complain......it's a message board, they're meant for people to discuss halo situations, problems, and complaints as long as they're not cussing and degrading people. it seems to me that you're complaining more than anyone else.

actually go read the cheating section on bungie.net. they changed it so that button glitches are no longer officially cheating.
