OK we are going to try this to see how it goes. There may not be enough people to support this.

OK we shall meet up Thursday @ 7pm EST(GMT-5) on the server named Halo2 DServer01. I beleive this is running Rumble Training mapcycle, what ever that is.

Rules:

1) No one can control the server. So we at the mercy of the mapcycle. Do not ask me to change the map I can't do it.

2) Go easy on the Delay feature. I may use to try to even the teams before the match but I will NEVER hit it more then twice.

3) Mics & Voice chat Make sure your mic is setup properly before you use it. I will try to post a guide to setting up vioce chat PROPERLY later tonight. Its very annoying to have to listen to a bunch of garbled noise and background noise, or even worse a feedback loop that grows in volume.

Cool, I'll see if I can make it, but Thursday nights are usually out. Moday is my main night for Halo play :-)

Looking forward to the mic setup instructions. I don't use mine at present, just the headphone sounds. I have ordered a new 5.1 surround sound set of headphones with mic, but they are one back order for a few weeks yet :-(

Haven't seen many MAW users in H2PC at all, (except Static!! )I guess I'm on too early or we are few in numbers to date.

Later .....

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time. I know who you are. You are destiny.

Well, my Halo 2 Vista runs smoothly, both the video and sound. But for some reason, when I try to connect online, it says there´s no such profile chosen. I tested it out and made a new one when it asked me to. Then it asked me again to do one. I don´t get it. TT_TT

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

Even if I got it working, I don't like FFA games.

Not sure if this is 100% right but...

Microphone setup for Halo2Vista

This guide should get your microphone setup properly to use in Halo2Vista.

First you need to make sure your mic is plugged in to the proper port. If you have a sound card there should be ports on the back, the one with a microphone picture next to it is the one you want. Some of you have motherboards with built in sound those ports will be on the back of the computer with the others. Again it should have a mic pic near it. Some of you many have both a card and on board sound. In that case you may need to go into the BIOS and disable the on-board sound if it interferes with your card. And lastly some of you will have ports on the front of your computer case, your monitor, or your keyboard. The case ports usually have a connector that needs to be plugged into the card or motherboard in order to work. The others will usually show up as a different sound device.

Once you have the mic plugged into the right port we need to go into Vista to see if it is working.
In Vista go to the Control Panel and click on Sound. In the Sound window you want to select the Recording tab. This tab will display all of the recording devices that Vista has detected. For instance, I have three devices listed. The first is a Headset Microphone, my Plantronics headset has a soundcard built -in to the cord so it shows up as a unique device. Next is the microphone port for the on-board sound. Last in the line in for the on board sound that is the line in port on the back or the mic port in the front of my case. There is also indicator bars to the right of the devices that are working. Blow in to your mic you should see one of the indicator bars light up green. This is the mic that is active. Right-click on it to bring up a menu and select Set as default to make sure Vista uses this mic port from now on.

Now its time to start Halo2Vista and set the mic up in there. When you start the game press “Home” to go into Windows Live. Click on Personal Settings and then click on Voice. Click Voice Recording Device. This should list the devices that Vista recognizes. Select the one that you set as a default in
Vista. Now Go to the Recording Volume and lower it. You have to find the right spot where you need to raise your voice to activate the recording. If it is to high you will have to scream, to low and we will hear every breath you take.

Your mic should be working in-game now. I haven't got to test it but I know that you have to be close to someone to hear them talk if you are on different teams. You can hear everyone on your team I think.

I'm just going in order, so we can see what games are playing on each server, the first one looks like it has Rumble Training cycle on it.. Sometime in the future, when I can setup a MAW clan server we can use that and pick the map/gametypes.

Instead of using one of Bungie's servers, couldn't you just make a server and us all pool into it? That way we could keep the game private, because if people see a lot of people in one server, they're naturally gonna join in with us. That also fixes the map/gametype issue.

Hello! Star Wars FTW. Also, join the MAW group. Please?

I don't have a dedicated server for H2V yet, and I just read the readme for it and it may be a while because setting one up is a real pain in the rear. I think most gameserver companies are going to wait until there is a large demand for the game before they offer servers.

(He rents servers from other companies to use as dedicated servers, but as of now no companiesare renting out servers for halo 2 vista)

Oh well, even if I had Vista, this POS can only run Halo:PC and Halo:CE really good at low to medium specs on everything that can be adjusted from low to medium, and it makes the graphics look bad.

Haven't played H2 since Aug. 8th, but perhaps I will show up today so you can all dry -blam!- me. I have yet to learn any of the MP maps or weapon locations. Probably never will. lol

I don't mean a dedicated server, I mean just a Gold-user hosted server.

Only gold members would be able to play. I just talked to a friend of mine and he is getting FiOS so I am going to load up my spare server and put it in at his house so maybe I can host a dedicated server that can run 16 players comfortably.

I was on for about a hour and a half. The DServer01 is all FFA. There was a bunch of KOTH games, a rocket, one sword game, a few slayer pros one of which was a fiesta. I saw staticx, Cmarvel, Adduxi, and Cweagle from here. It was all small maps because we never had more then 7 players, mostly Turf and Beaver Creek and a couple Ascensions. We'll give it another try next week on DServer02.
