In this topic I will compare two recently released Bungie.net Halo 3 screenshots.

These two images were, it appears, taken very near each other. If you remember from the update whence the first picture came from:
That shot doesn’t reveal much, but if we’d panned the camera down a little, we’d have interfered with our slow-burn unveiling of Campaign.I believe that the pictures were taken within minutes of each other, the first one shows just the cheif and the second showing him with his new buddies.
Notice at the very bottom right of the first picture, a small sliver of something. I thought at first it was a bit of the blue Elite, then I realized it was the rock from the second picture near the left.
Also note the smoke rising in the air on the right hand side of the first picture, right above the horizon, well you can see it in the second picture above the purple Elite, slightly less substantial though, which indicates realistic atmoshperic distortion, meaning smoke will curve through the air and eventually dissipate instead of dissapearing the same way every time.
All this is incredibly cool becuase it makes an unnoticed connection, and also indicates incredible advances in game engine programming.
