Subject: Top five worst games? Hah!

We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

I was watching the news last night and a list of games not to buy for your kids popped up. It went something like this:
1) Doom 3
2) GTA: San Andreas
3) Halo 2
4) Half Life 2
5) Resident Evil

They completely ignored the actual bad games like Roadkill and Postal 2. They just listed the top five games, obviously in an attempt to harm the gaming industry. No, these games should not be bought for any kid under ten, and only for kids 10-15 if they are mature, but still...

And now to make it stereotypical and offensive: Damn soccer moms!

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

I can see GTA being up there, but whats wrong with saving the human race?

I can understand the other 4 games, but Halo 2? I mean Halo 2's violence is Mario Sunshine compared to those other games. Halo 2 is probably a moderate M game. And the only reason for that is the Flood which aren't even near as explicit as what they show in Doom 3 or RE. Those others are just hardcore M.

that kind of biased -blam!- pisses me off. those loser liberal -blam!- mothers think that shooting someone in a video game will make you a killer in the future. that kind of crap pisses me off so much, but you know what? the video game industry is so huge and powerful, pissed off soccer moms arent going to make a dent in it. and that reassures me to the fullest extent.

I agree with that list to a point: little kids should not play any of tose games unless they are really mature for their ages. Halo2 and HL2 dont seem as bad as the others on the list though. I am too getting pissed at when people want to blame the media and entertainment for the problems caused by people who are just screwed up in the head.

I ccan see Doom 3, that could scar little kids for life, and GTA's pretty bad. But really, what's wrong with halflife and halo and that other one.

It gets really annoying when the media tries to blame video games, movies,or music for the real problems like bad parenting or abuse.People do anything just to stay safe from the truth.

ya i know right...they say video games are the cause of all the shootings...well theres probably millions of people who play games and how many shootings are there...2, 3 maybe 5 so whats the deal with that...if your kid is real violent games are not to blame its mainly parenting. how strict you on your kid also helps... and oh what about movies....they never mention those...well oh sorry i forgot.. extra violent movies dont count..their not games remember

Devil is Double is Deuce and Joker always trumps Deuce.

Doom 3, GTA, yeah sure. Little 8 year old kids should not see that. But the rest..... Typical media bullsh1t. Yet another cheap shot at the video game industry. Next they'll be saying that video games are the reason for terrorism.....

" He was playing Halo 2 one day and crashed his warthog into the base and killed himself. It's obviously where he got the idea of strapping a bomb to his chest and killing a bunch of civilians."

-blam!-. I'm so damn tired of hearing that -blam!-. And then after they complain about video games, they go and show footage of terrorists executing hostages. You tell me which is more likely to influence kids....

well the part about the warthog is totally true... the crashing effect of the warthog causes people to lose control of their senses and go blow up buildings and shoot up schools. (shakes head) the media can go shove it... its all political anyway. most of the stuff they show isn't always the full truth anyway. they like to take true stories and make them totally wrong and untruthful. (not always the case but most of the time)

Oh yeah, video games are the only possible source of inspiration for all this violence. Just completely disregard the fact that were currently in the middle of a brutal and bloody war, abusive homes and parents, " life on the street" , daily crime, and just plain ol' human nature. Someone needs to tell the media to shove it where the sun don't shine. Media is looking for a scapegoat. Along comes all these great games that make all this money and just happen to be a little violent. Then they blow it totally out of proportion and blame it for all life's troubles. Sure, there's probably some nutcase who was influenced by a game. But that's one isolated incident, not some rampant epidemic. The media needs to wake up and find a better excuse.

ya but remember if theres a shootout somewhere somehow its videogames fault.....if someone blows themselves up in the middle east, video games are all to blame (thats a good song by the way, Sum 41) but wait a second, they dont have videogames out there

the media should be there to report on major events with the truth...the problem now adays is a lot of the news stations are all against something and they try to put the blame on everyone else instead of saying the story the way it is....by telling the truth..now you watch the news and you always wonder if their telling the truth or bending it

dont worry...one day when i take over the media, things will be different..whens theres a shooting the media will blame little toy cars for causing the person to kill people....cause if the media says it, it must be true...(those cars are dangerous especially when you stpe on them....OUCH!!!) anyway im going to bed i dont care anymore and i need my sleep later all

Seems like some slut celebrities' fake wedding is more important than national security if you watch some news programs. Everyone is so damn touchy nowadays. If some of these games had been released in the nineties, you'd never have seen such opposition to them. But we live in a post 9/11 world and every little movie or game or TV show is automatically to blame for violence and death. It's not the kids or the games. It's the disfunctional pareents who should know better than to let 8 year olds play Doom 3. Common sense, people. Geez.

That murderer was drinking a soda just minutes before he murdered Joe! Sodas must be banned! Banned, I tell you! Sodas are the source of all evil and violence!

What about Luigi's Mansion! That game must go! How dare that damn game company show our kids to hunt ghosts with a vacuum! I'm outraged at Nintendo! I've lost a lot of relatives because of that darn game! We need to put an end to these people who teach these to things to our kids! Viva la Soccer Moms on periods!

As far as Halo 2 goes, they're probably talking about multiplayer. There is lots of nasty language on Live, and lots of shooting fellow human-ish cyborgs.

I find it kinda funny that they list bad VIDEOGAMES, and not movies, because NO LITTLE KID would ever watch a violent R-rated movie with graphic violence, explicit language, and gratitous sex!

Yeah, I also hate how people try to pin the blame of their irresponsibility(i.e., "the video game made my son kill this person!") instead of accept the fact that they probably should've been paying a little more attention to their kids.

I don’t know…JFK Reloaded is really toeing the line...

Now the media will have all the more reason to blame Video games! Irresponsible parents whom are too busy to raise their childern salute you, greedy software producers!

You wanna know another funny thing? Some of the worst videogames ever made were made on the Atari 2600. They were disgustingly perverted.

Also, I think the people -blam!-ing about how bad video games are in American need to hi-tail it to Japan, where a majority of their videogames are -blam!-.
