Who cares if its unfair

lmao

Think its funny? Im sorry you cant bounce, not my damn fault.

Anyone can bounce - so long as they have a 60Hz refresh rate. Don't act like it's hard. And obviously it's extremely unfair for those with only the choice of a 50Hz refresh rate simply because of the video region they're in.

Yeah, you acting like it's a skill and that unfair is ok is very funny indeed. :-D

i'll never play team slayer again with all the double shooting going on its just ridiculous..... i mean i can shoot you in the head 4 times as fast as the BR will shoot, but you can shoot me in the chest 10 times by the time i can shoot 4 times with the same gun.... no i'm not saying its "cheating" its just not how i play the game, i don't need the glitches to win..... some people do so great i'm glad you have the time to learn how to do them.... but i don't have that much time and i like playing other people who'd rather play the game the way it was designed to be played

For the love of christ give this man some more credit. This was opinionated and he still typed all of this. I completely agree. Whenever I get like an across the map stick out of 20 thrown i act ecstatic so people know I was just getting lucky. I'm not like "Oh get pwned you nub" Although I am though a person who iwll walk by a person who just got killed by someone else and just say noob for fun. They all know I am joking though and no feelings are hurt.

Your being so emo about it. I've only ran into about 3-10 people everyday who use it (RRX) in matchmaking. It's not as bad as SMG spawns IMO. I really don't see why people say they use it all time. It's really not an uber technique. You should do just fine if you can 4 shot kill easily, even against double and quad shooters.

if you win. Bottomline, It doesnt matter how or which way. IF you are GOOD yoou find a way to win! Point blank. IF you cant win then the other team was better than u @ that point in time. Dont start threads trying to make yourself seem like a purist of halo. I bet if you were winning every game you played (not saying I do because i msot definately dont) then I GUARANTEE you wouldnt compain like this or make this list. Pick yoursef back up off the ground and play the game. What makes a player skilled is if they can win. PERIOD

What really constitues skill in Halo?

Being able to play within the rules (ie-no superbouncing, glitching, standbying etc) and still win.

Cheating takes no skill whatsoever. It's for fools and cowards. But in Halo 3 there will be no place to hide.

Bring. It. On.

It is true.

proof?

some people that are good at button glitching may be good, very good or amazing at this game, but button glitches arnt what makes those people good, you can get amazingly bad people who pull off button glitches alot, they may win alot of fight due to button glitches, if they camp in a small area eg under sniper tower in lockout, all they do is wait for people to come through one of the doors and bxr theyre dead.

some people can be good, very good or amazing at halo 2 but cant show it due to th few poor things halo 2 does, some of these peple refuse to take several hours boring themeselves by going into custom games they dont want to do over and over to learn how to cheat in a game. or they think it will take alot more skill for them not to do that which will come into use in halo 3 which is out in one month. these poeple sometimes loose due to people who are actually worse than them but happen to get into range for a BXR which they would never have won the battle without.

most halo 2 character come under 4 descriptions, good and glitch, bad and glitch, good and dont glitch and bad and dont glitch, the people who seem to win most here are the people who are good and glitch since they beat the people which are bad and glitch in a fair fight and beat the good and dont glitch group when glitching is concerned but come out even in a fair fight. then in joint second is the bad and glitch with the good and dont glitch since they will beat each other in their own concerned areas. and in last is the bad and dont glitch, most of the bad and dont glitch community has left halo 2 due to always loosing to good players and loosing to bad players that cheat them.

and please tell me which takes more skill to do. beating someone down with a lunge which places your character aiming at the head of another then using basically a shortcut to shoot their unshielded head, or beating someone down with a lunge then having to jump back or strafe or w/e due to the other person trying to lunge at you and you having to keep aiming at their head waiting for the point where you can shoot, BXR/BXB takes away the risk element of what your enemy might do and what other enemies might do while your in the air(they could steal your kill or kill you) and it take away the skill of having to move and keep targeting the enemies head

The thing is, I've never seen someone who is good and don't glitch. I'm not saying everyone who glitches is good, but I am saying most of the experienced players who are actually high in skill do glitch. Unless you wanna show me proof in a 1v1 that you are indeed good and don't glitch, my point stands.

  • 08.24.2007 1:25 PM PDT

ive never seen anyone level 23-24+ that doesnt glitch when in a close range fight. i can do bxr i just never think about doing it. i do bxb almost every time i beatdown

i tottaly disaggree on the button glitch (even though i dont use them except for rry cause its funny) but if u r gonna use button glitches, u have to practise them. they r hard. it makes u a better player, it "ups" your sence of the game and reflexes when u r dieng. if im blowingu away with an smg and u have the sence to kno to bxr me, i respect that level of reflex and sence. and super bounces are awesome but i agree, dont use them in a game. go to your own party and practice yourself

With a month to go, which would you rather be?

Someone who relies on button glitches to get cheap kills?

Or someone who doesn't, but can still win in most situations?

Exactly. End of. It's pointless. All of those 'mad skillz' are going to be about as much use as an inflatable dart board. Congratulations to anybody who wasted four years learning them. I dont care if they take skill, or hard work. At the end of the day they wont make anybody a good Halo 3 player.

I love how people say glitching takes no skill. RRX YY RRXY is much more skillful than R R R R R R.... Your not a bad player if you use glitches but you wont be up-to-skill in halo 3, if you can get it.

To end all controversy I found a vote that shows a majority saying they don't like button combos!

The majority on THESE forums don't like button combos, but in pretty much every other halo 2 forum they don't care. Also, no offense, but the majority of the people on these forums are lesser skilled players.

LOOOOOOOOOL.

Nice fail.

Because 48 Bungie.net members is OBVIOUSLY a good representation of the true numbers.

That's like going to Atlanta and polling part of the city as to who their favorite baseball team is.

For the rest of the post you are right sir. but that particular point doesn't have any signifcance whatsoever.

Well I'm not stating this as a fact, but it's based upon my observations.
Higher skilled players don't care about button combos.
Lower skilled players do care and often blame their losses on button combos.

That person posted a link to a topic with a poll about button glitching with the majority hating it. The majority of the people here are lesser skilled players.

So yes, I think it does have significance, since it proved a point. =/

Also button glitching discussions aren't allowed, etc.

I WIN.

Skill in Halo is situational.

Skill should be determined on how you do a certain task in a certain situation. Weapons and combos don't really have much to do with it. It's all about how you react when many different types of combat are facing you.

Very vague, and broad, but it has to be.
